About Me

Raised on a coconut plantation | Outdoorsy person | Enjoys traveling | Used to ride a motorcycle | Loves all kind of coffee | Super bad at math |

I consider myself the kind of person who sees the world as glass half full instead of half empty. I am easygoing, simple and friendly person. I would love to travel around the world, meet interesting people and see what life has to offer. I would rather you to find out about myself in another good way like a conversation, it's better than to narrate myself here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just started my couchsurfing experience, so far it's been great. I've met many nice people from all over the world and it has been great to hang out together. I'm looking forward to meet more people and learn new cultures too. I like to travel and discover different places and cultures. For me, couchsurfing is more than free accommodations. It is a way to explore different cultures and a great way to make friends. Friends that i wouldn't make if I had travel the regular way. I believe that Couchsurfing can have a great impact on people's lives. It is a way to push people out of their comfort zone. It is a way to see the world through other people's eyes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming with sharks at Karimun Jawa Islands.
The moment I got into the water felt like magic. Seeing the sharks in their natural habitat swimming by my side was something I could never imagine happening! And after all, I wasn't that scared anymore. I spent around 10 minutes in the water, swimming with the sharks. Sometimes they stay far away from me and sometimes they get a little closer, but nothing scaring. I just wanna say that this was, for sure, one of the most amazing things I've ever done in my life!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Since September 2019 I move to Semarang.

Semarang is the capital and largest city of Central Java Province, and was a major port during the Dutch colonial era. The famous 15th century Chinese explorer, Admiral Cheng Ho set foot here on Java, paving the way for the city’s maritime heritage. From the 17th century, Semarang became an entrepot for the spice trade, and continued to flourish as a port city right through to the 20th century. As a result of its rich legacy, Semarang is a melting pot of Chinese, Indian, Arab and European cultures. If you’re looking for a mix of old-world charm and colourful culture, Semarang serves up a good flavour of Indonesia’s past and present. You can explore Kota Lama (literally meaning ‘Old City’), also referred to as “Little Netherlands”, for a glimpse into the Dutch influence on the city. Marvel at the colonial architecture of the old buildings in the area that were once the homes and offices of officials from the Dutch East India Company. The best known landmark is the Koepelkerk – known locally as Gereja Blenduk – a Protestant church with a beautiful Pantheon-style façade. Try Lumpia Semarang, a popular local snack. Originating from Chinese immigrants, this version of the spring roll typically comes deep fried or unfried, stuffed with dried shrimp, cooked chicken or prawn and bamboo shoots, and served with a sweet chilli sauce made from dried shrimp, coconut sugar, red and bird’s eye chili peppers, tapioca and baby shallots, among ingredients. Also worth a try is Wingko Babat, a sticky sweet rice cookie bar.

================================
I stay in Surabaya, Indonesia’s second-largest city and East Java’s administrative capital is known as “the city of heroes” due to its role in the nation’s independence struggle. Tree-lined streets and beautiful mosques dot the city and nearby attractions including Mount Bromo, Indonesia’s most famous volcano, make Surabaya popular among tourists. As the main gateway to East Java, Surabaya calls itself the capital of enchantment. Famous for its culinary sites, allows travelers to make a deeper exploration into the local foods. Besides, Surabaya has an incredible food heritage that has been legendary for many decades. Although the city is situated near the coast where seafood should be the highlight, there is a wide variety of other good foods. And I know great places to taste it. It would be a pleasure getting to show you all these different dishes.
