Über mich
I'm a recent graduate from Hunters College, CUNY-NYC, where I completed my Environmental Studies with a minor in Biology. I am passionate about earth stewardship, environmental sustainability, and wildlife conservation, amongst other things.
I am currently teaching Vinyasa Flow yoga as a volunteer at an open youth center in Vilnius, Lithuania.
In the meantime, I am also exploring acro yoga classes, different meditation techniques (including Sufi meditation) with my Teacher, freedom/soul dancing ("5 Rhythms" dance therapy), and reconnecting with my roots- my countries Pagan origins that are based on the belief that we are all part of nature and deeply connected to all its cycles.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
I have been a member since 2012, but have not yet had the pleasure to try staying with or hosting other travelers...For the last six years I have been living in New York City where I was undergoing my undergraduate studies, and the countries where I traveled to to work with widlife conservation organizations were so remote that I never had the opportunity to couchsurf...
I love to travel with a purpose and usually attempt to do so through the means of some kind of work/energy exchange. My traveling style makes me more prone to stay in one place for a longer time in order to sense the true essence of each place, to get a feel for the community, and to experience its unique wildlife.
I am interested in couchsurfing so I could travel in a more sustainable manner, experience a more intimate human connection with my hosts and most importantly- exchange knowledge where ever I go. :)
Unfortunately, I am presently not in a position to accept guests because I am staying with my family in their apartment in Vilnius, LT.
Interessen
In my early life I underwent training in visual arts and a wide range of other art techniques (photography, painting, sculpture, ceramics, woodwork, graphic design etc), therefore I have an immense appreciation for Art. This includes all Art Forms, such as DANCE (latin, afro-brazil, tribal etc), MUSIC (jazz, classical, tribal, deep house, trance etc), FILM (especially by non- mainstream, international film directors- my favorite being Gaspar Noe), Performance Art, and artistic modeling.
Yoga serves a very important role in my life as a means of connecting with my inner self, grounding my body, and helping me feel a deeper sense of unity with my community members. I began my journey as a Yogini upon discovering Power Ashtanga yoga (which I practiced for a year with my first mentor at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater), then transitioned into Power Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Yoga To The People (which I practiced for the next two years). Now I have incorporated both Ashtanga and Vinyasa, and have developed my individual (almost daily) yoga practice which serves as my source of internal stability.
Lastly, I find nourishment for my body and soul by adhering to a plant-based diet (for over three years now) which has allowed me to heal both myself and my body. Although initially I transitioned towards plant based foods primarily for Health reasons, my lifestyle choice since then has been supported by my passion for environmental sustainability, and continues to be strengthened by my respect for all life forms. :)
That being said, I feel respect for everyones journey and their process as I practice patience on a daily basis even with myself in terms of my growth.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
Wildlife Conservation is my Life Passion. I've worked with many types of animals at sanctuaries, parks or with non-profit wildlife organizations.
One truly amazing experience was taking daily jogs in the Bolivian jungle while our camp parrot would join me by flying overhead...:)
Lehren, lernen, teilen
I love teaching yoga (and some acro yoga poses), sharing my knowledge about the environmental and health benefits of a plant-based diet lifestyle without judgement, and mostly exchanging new music with new people...
I am interested in learning anything about holistic living & healing, permaculture, ecological lifestyles, eco-building, music/dance therapy, mantras, cocoa ceremonies, meditative techniques, alchemy, plant medicine, aromatherapy, massage therapy, art, and much more.
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
I love Storytelling- whether it is exchanging life stories, talking about our most exciting adventures or dreaming about the adventures ahead of us I believe this is the most effortless way of sharing our knowledge and how we bring each other the messages we are meant to.
