About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Explore. Dream. Discover. Keep learning, growing as a person, and making a difference to the fantastic people I meet along the way...
ABOUT ME
"Not content with normality." My friends could have told you I'd never have ended up with a desk job; that as soon as I had money in my hand I was looking to see where else it could take me; and that I belonged in any place but where I happened to be at the time. I live for new experiences and new people...
PHILOSOPHY
Life is about new experiences and constantly pushing yourself to figure out who you are and what more you can become...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm a CouchSurfing noob; and so I'm looking to participate in anyway that I can - be that organising local meetups, offering the community a roof over their heads on my humble couch, or meeting new people... I'm willing to try anything at least once...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm new to the CouchSurfing community; but look forward to being able to share future experiences soon...
Interests
Travel, Writing, and Photography are the things that make me tick... in that order... I love pulling together my thoughts and memories from my Journey and using them to inspire others to abandon familiarity and take a leap into the unknown themselves (see what you think at www.gingersjourney.co.uk). Along the way I'm inspired by Music and the people I meet...

Music, Movies, and Books
The Movie: Into The Wild. The Music: Little Comets. The Books: Travels with Charley; The Innocents Abroad; Into Thin Air; A Moveable Feast; and The Rum Diary.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
January 2012: Standing atop an unrestored, isolated, much less visited section of the Great Wall of China overlooking a frozen lake in the height of Chinese Winter; me and my travelling buddy were the only two up there! July 2012: Standing at the summit of Mt. Fuji with new friends, watching the sunset roll in after a gruelling night hike. October 2012: Spending the night in an old Confucian academy in a remote Korean village untouched by the mass modernisation experienced by the rest of this rapidly developing land.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach beginner-intermediate DLSR photography and image editing skills, basic web design, and I'm a TEFL qualified English teacher with 18 months experience.
