About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Save money and learn as much as I can about jatropha biodiesel before going to Costa Rica.
ABOUT ME
I have not found that living my life ridiculously has ever had a deleterious effect on it. Quite the opposite. I've therefore concluded that I am the sane one in a crazy world and not the other way around.
I've driven across the U.S. twice before. It is infinitely varied, but only on the surface. Both road trips landed me in the desert. This time I will circle the wagons and dig a well.
I express with a keyboard and record with a camera. Sometimes I write letters. Actual, concrete, pen-&-ink letters that arrive in physical mailboxes.
I'm glad there's a Black dude in the White house but I would prefer the Green party, and if I had all these things simultaneously it would be an Olive Green government. It might improve Gross National Happiness. Green has a proven calming effect. They used to paint hospital and asylum walls green.
I love Katharine Hepburn, Myrna Loy, and Mae West. I like to wear red but I save it for special occasions. Hence my red dress and heel collections.
PHILOSOPHY
A thrill a day keeps the chill away.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Technically I haven't yet. Though I've been accepted to surf, I always managed to find places to stay through real life friends. And I haven't had a couch available since I signed up.
But! I promise when I move to Costa Rica you can visit me.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A cartoonish fellow named Haru gave me directions to an internet cafe in Asakusa, Tokyo's historic district. I ended up staying with him & his girlfriend & their tiny leg-humping dog. On my way back through Tokyo to go home, I ended up crashing on the floor of that internet cafe, delirious from travel-sickness. By the time I woke up, it had cost me as much money as a hotel.
Interests
Nature is awesome. Love animals, love plants. Love gardening, hiking, climbing, camping, horseback riding, boating.
I'm a great vegetarian/cheap-a-tarian cook.
I used to work in a bookstore where I ran a sci-fi/cult fiction book club. I love music. I DJed a radio show of themed playlists before Bob Dylan had his. I take lots of pictures. Sometimes I jazz them up in Photoshop.
My dream is to produce my own food and electricity.

Music, Movies, and Books
Kurt Vonnegut, Tom Robbins, Philip K. Dick, Hunter Thompson, Neil Gaiman, J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter), Douglas Adams, Mark Twain, Chuck Palanhiuk. And Michael Polan.
Music? I used to be in the "everything but rap and country" camp. Now I like rap and country too.
Movies? I love Katharine Hepburn, Myrna Loy, and Mae West. Anything with a snappy script. Also Hitchcock, Polanski, Tarantino, Miyazake, and early Tim Burton. The movie Adaptation inspires me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
