About Me
At the moment im in Europe! After almost one year in Australia, it was time to change environment. So I decided to move to Europe in Aug 2020. Hope to get to see Europe a little bit, while finding a place to settle.
Couchsurfing is dead! I now use bewelcome, hospitality club and warmshower. Find me there instead. Or message me on Instagram @themarshajean

one of the craziest travelers you will meet ;)
im a 23yo from Hong Kong who has been solo on the road working and traveling for 5 years already. I travel to learn and meet people, not to check bucketlists off!
When I was 19 I started hitchhiking from Iran to France (through Iraq Kurdistan)
Backpacked in Afghanistan twice (including Kabul, Kandahar, Bamiyan, Wakhan Corridor) 2 months total
Traveled 6 months in Pakistan (it is a really beautiful country there are so many misconceptions)
Bicycled alone across Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Northern Pakistan.
Walked 19 days alone in Afghanistan with a donkey and the owner.
I have hitchhiked aslo in Afghanistan and Pakistan, all over the world i must have hitchhiked at least 10,000km+
I do not take tours and travel alone always. I barely stay in guest houses or hostels. I mostly camp or get invited in real life. E.g. 8 months in Afghanistan and Pakistan, i stayed less than 2 weeks in guest houses.

I loved traveling by bycicle as it allows you to be a lot closer to the locals and nature.
How everything started: 2015 I started work and travel in Australia for 8 months, then moved on to exploring South East Asia, went to help build a school in Nepal, then hitchhiked from Iran, to Kurdistan (Iraq) to Turkey. Stayed in Greece for 5 months workawaying and volunteering. Then hitchhiked from Greece to the South of France. I took a flight for €5 from Nice to London. After 6 months of hard work in London, I spent 1.5 months in Morocco to soak up some sun and surf before I began my Central Asian adventures! Cycled alone through Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Northern Pakistan. Trekked 19 days in Afghanistan, stayed 1 month. Loved Pakistan so much I stayed 6 months. Went back to Afghanistan this time visiting the mainland, stayed 3 weeks. Got yoga teacher training in India. Spent 3 months in Sri Lanka. And now here to save up and travel again next year
ADVENTURE
I'm one of the bravest people I know. Lots of people have said my face is deceiving because I look innocent to be actually so crazy adventurous. I don't like this saying because I have the face of a typical girl, are you saying that girls aren't adventurous?
I actually had an abusive home that I left. I have lived between Hong Kong and Sydney when I was a kid, so I speak fluent English. I'm addicted to the thrill of seeing magnificent landscapes, exploring the wilderness and wowing myself with the beauty in all cultures! There's no experience more beautiful than connecting with all the beautiful and unique souls of the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I can't imagine exploring a country without living with the locals.
Traveling, is 20% about the place, and 80% the people. Sometimes, its 0% about the place, 100% about the people.
Those whom you meet and remember mark your life's most important journey. You may forget important magnificent places but you never forget the people who made a difference in your journey.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveling! Truly on a budget, most of the time staying with local homes (not couchsurfing), seeking a raw experience of the world. Not really traveling for places but to meet the people and experience. The way I travel matters a lot. I'm mostly alone, without guide, really putting myself out there in the world and making it on my own.
Leaving my abusive home
Hitchhiked alone whenever I can. (also across Iran, Iraq Kurdistan, Turkey, Morocco.) Hitchhiked from Iran to France starting at 19.
jumped a 20m cliff to dive in water
been to the Kimberleys. (wild place on earth, did the Gibbs River road )
overstayed a month in Burma. ventured to really remote and random villages
rode motorbikes and stopped after I had a small accident and realised im risking other people's lives. I'm glad i stopped.
When I was 19 after 1 month in Iraqi Kurdistan I experienced a change in my life and personality.
been to Baluchistan in 2017
Rode a bycicle alone across Kyrgystan, Tajikistan and Northern Pakistan. On the second highest road in the world. I also took off road via Zurkul. It was tough.
Went to Afghanistan Wakhan Corridor alone without a guide in Sep 2018 and hired a donkey and trekked for 19 days through the roof of the world.
Visiting mainland Afghanistan alone in June 2019 for 3 weeks.. (Kabul, Bamiyan, Kandahar) been my biggest dream since I was a child.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I can help you take portraits or photographs with my good camera
I'm a clean and responsible person! People say I have a story for everything. I will definitely try my best to make you laugh.
