About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My current mission is to make the internet safer for people by coming up with solutions to the identity and privacy issues that pervade web interactions.
ABOUT ME
I am an inventor and also provide a lot of consulting in a variety of areas. One of my pet areas is working to make the internet safer and more private for individuals. I have served as chairman of the Privacy and Public Policy working group of a global standards organizatoin (Kantara) and spoken at security and identity conferences. I am spiritual, but non-denominational. I eat everything, but mostly eat vegetarian. I enjoying cooking -- especially exotic things: Indian, Indonesian, Chinese, French. Of course, I love eating as well.I travel globally for both work and pleasure . I have been to India several times and have also spent time in Thailand, Singapore, China, Australia, France, England, Italy, Brasil, Paraguay, Peru, Mexico, Canada, and the Carribean. When I travel for pleasure, I prefer to stay with local people in order to get a feel for the culture and make friends. I keep in touch with people I have met all over the world and make efforts to see them when I am nearby.I enjoy discussions of philosophy and world politics. I particularly enjoy learning perspectives from others of different backgrounds.I am divorced and my daughters do not live with me, but I live near them to be an active parent.
PHILOSOPHY
Live lightly on the earth and make a positive contribution.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am interested in hosting people at my house who are visiting form elsewhere to meet them and learn from them.
I am also interested in staying with people on my travels to facilitate my stays, learn about their culture, and make friends.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I spent a year hitchhiking around the Western US many years ago. It was one of my most rewarding experiences. I also recently stayed in a "homestay" in Bali and became close with my hosts. They allowed me to assist in food preparation and dine with them and took me to meet various spiritualists which were the targets of my trip there.

Teach, Learn, Share
I agree with the philosophy that everyone's a student and everyone's a teacher. I am constantly learning and happy to share what I have learned. I enjoy doing both actively.
