About Me
Yooo! Gasel here (say it like “Gah-sell”, YES, I know, I’ll wait while you practice).
I’m an ambivert through and through, meaning I can light up a room one minute and be happily MIA the next. The pandemic honestly taught me to love my own company more than I expected, but I still get a genuine buzz from meeting new people, which is exactly why CouchSurfing felt like my kind of thing. Different stories, different backgrounds, different ways of seeing the world? Sign me up.
The solo version of me is pretty comfortable in his own skin. You’ll catch me wandering through parks with no real destination, doing a slow lap around a mall just to people-watch, squeezing in a solo run, or deep in a gym session with my headphones on and the rest of the world blocked out. I’ve fully unlocked the achievement of eating alone at a restaurant without even flinching. Menus hit different when you don’t have to share. The one frontier I haven’t conquered yet? Going to a movie theater solo. I know, I know. It’s on the list.
The social version of me is a completely different animal. Throw me into a group hike, a beach day with the fam, a spontaneous road trip with friends, or literally any game involving running around like an idiot, and I am there. I play ultimate frisbee and pickleball at least once a week and I’m always the guy grinning too wide and trash-talking just enough to keep things fun. Workout class? Let’s go. Morning run with a stranger? Absolutely. I will match your energy and probably raise it.
Life lately, I’m in this season of being really intentional about how I live. 27+ months sober (no alcohol, no pork) and genuinely not missing it. I also cut out caffeine, coffee, tea, sodas, all of it, which was rough for about two weeks and then suddenly fine. Sugar’s the current nemesis, though dark chocolate has a permanent exemption in my personal rulebook, non-negotiable. These days you’ll probably find me at a café nursing some fancy herbal thing or a smoothie with chia seeds floating around in it, looking like I have my life together (debatable).
I’m into leadership books and podcasts, and before you scroll past, they’re genuinely way more engaging than they sound. Currently rotating through Suits, Modern Family, White Lotus, and Schitt’s Creek. Not into K-Dramas, just putting that out there now so we can skip that conversation.
If you’re up for a real conversation, a walk somewhere, swapping travel stories over a weird health drink, or just existing in comfortable silence with good company, I’m your guy. Zero judgment, no awkward silences (or if there are, we’ll laugh about them), just solid good vibes. Let’s connect! 🤙

✴ Canyoneering (Cliff jumping 30ft, 40ft and 50ft) + a 4hr Hike
✴ Spelunking @ the deep caves of Sagada (I have claustrophobia)
