About Me

I wouldn't call myself a traveler but I certainly like the idea of going to countries I have never seen before. Even talking to people who have traveled a lot is exciting for me and so I find Couchsurfing to be a wonderful idea and one of the most interesting communities on the Internet.

I like to think that I'm an easy-going and relaxed kind of person although people often say that I'm sometimes too reserved, even introverted. I'm quiet, that's for sure, but I like having a fun time and enjoy a good company, especially if there is something interesting to talk about.

Right now I am studying to become a teacher of the English language and I hope this will help me travel more and meet people from faraway lands, learn about their cultures and languages, share my love for English with them, experience new things, and become a better person in the process.

I have my eyes set on the Far East but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in other places. I'd love to visit as many countries as possible and to spend some time there to get to feel what it is like living in those places for the local people.

My couch is not available right now as I'm currently away from home chasing my dreams in Belarus but if you happen to be around and are in need of a drink or just somebody to talk to, do drop me a line.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Life is about learning new things, meeting new people, seeing new places, being happy, and helping others do all of the above. Couchsurfing has it all and that's why I'm here.

Interests

I enjoy many things but I'm especially fond of old bookshops and the smell of coffee. I love taking walks in the forest and listening to the sound of rain, sharing ideas with friends and reading books and poetry. I'm keen on music and it's never quiet in my home. I like a good meal and enjoy a drink now and then. And if you bring me a good story or two, you'll be more than welcome to stay a night.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not partial to any particular kind of music and my tastes and preferences change from day to day. One thing is constant, however: there must be music.

I don't go to the cinema very often, there isn't one where I live, but of the films I've seen lately 'the Grand Budapest Hotel', 'Only Lovers Left Alive', and 'the Hunt' were probably the best.

In books I adore Hamingway's style and Salinger's honesty, Bulgakov's sense of irony and Heller's sense of humor, Martin's characters and Windham's despair, King's naivity and Vonnegut's imagination, and much, much more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived CELTA. So far.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you ever find your knowledge of Russian or English wanting, I would do my best to help. And if you are feeling limber, I could teach you a bit of juggling.

I'd love to find out about your mother tongue and places you have been to. Also, if you can cook something unusual and tasty, I'd provide the ingredients :-)

My library is at your disposal and any contributions are very much welcome. Sharing of stories is not optional!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Whatever I know, a meal and a drink, a good book, and any experience I've had so far.

Countries I’ve Visited
