About Me
ABOUT ME
I've been working in and out of agriculture for the past 10 years, and now spend my workdays looking for meaningful stories from data to help improve education for farmers and land managers. I also throw frisbees, devour podcasts, grow vegetables, and love to cook for a crowd—I'm never far from pulling cookies or bread out of the oven.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've had many wonderful hosts around Europe and the midwestern United States and a handful of great guests. I love the unique kinds of connections and hospitality that couchsurfing offers. I'm not currently active as a host or traveler.
Interests
I love hiking, playing in the dirt in my garden, riding my bike, paddling a kayak, and cooking, and theatre and storytelling of all sorts.
Music, Movies, and Books
This is an ever-evolving portion of a much longer list of books, of course:
My Family and Other Animals (Gerald Durrell), The Parable of the Sower and Parable of the Talents (Octavia Butler), I Served the King of England (Bohumil Hrabal), A Complicated Kindness (Miriam Toews), Cooked (Michael Pollan), Braiding Sweetgrass (Robin Wall Kimmerer)
Teach, Learn, Share
I bake pretty excellent cakes, knit, and play the ukulele, so I will happily help you with any of those handy skills. I know a little bit of Spanish and am learning Italian, and am always up for learning new things.
