Cześć, I'm Grzegorz !

I'm from Poland and currently living in a small but lovely town about 60 km from Wrocław - less than an hour by train.

My life is all about emotions more than anything else. I really love to experience things with my heart. That's why I cry watching movies and smile sincerely looking into people's eyes.

I'm a late student - right now, I'm studying Nursing and thinking about adding Dietetics to my list. For two years I was at Emergency Medical Services course but it turned out not to be my thing. I love medicine, helping people and caring for them, so a role of a nurse suits me best, I think. I'm also full of empathy and I love to talk with people.
Communication is very important to me and to be honest... It's a lot of fun if you use it to do good ! (Btw. Listening to elderly patients revealing stories about their young years was so mesmerizingly fun ! )

Yeah... Listening to people's stories is important. My philosophy is that no matter the age, proffesion, origin, looks etc., every single one has a story to tell - you just have to put an effort and listen.

Please Note That : I decided to try with couchsurfing just recently, so keep that in mind . Also, If you wonder why I dont't host - I'll be honest - that's because my family is in a rather bad financial situation (for my country's standards) - and I'm from Poland, where living i a bad financial situation on its own :D Because of that, not only my house is "not in the best shape", but also I work a lot. When I'm going to school, I go mon-fri and work sat-sun, so you get the idea... I hope that I'll be able to host soon, cuz really... I want to give something back ! (If someone will ever wanna visit my village that is ;)

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

When I was 15 I was diagnosed with cancer. It was a long fight but after about 10 years it was finally over and it ended up especially well for me ! Now I'm perfectly fine and I want to make up for those lost years.

I'm studying, so my budget is kinda tight, but I still want to explore, discover new places with wonderful people and experience their culture ! Now that my health doesn't restrain me anymore, I think that Couchsurfing is a way to go !

Música, películas y libros

There is no division into types when it comes to what I am listening to. Even thou, I really enjoy rock music, 70/80's pop, classical, synthwave and ska more than anything.

My top music artists are Luxtorpeda (polish rock band), Coldplay, The Struts, Princess Chelsea, The XX, Billy Talent, MUSE, Happysad, Julian Casablancas, Daft Punk, T/N/A/F, Pidżama Porno (Poland has some awesome rock artists ! ), The Killers and G N'R (but only their debut album for some reason )

My favorite song of all time is "Fly me to the moon" by Julie London !

I really love drama when it comes to films. Also sci-fi but yeah - I like to feel a lot during the screening . I prefer movies with well- developed characters and lots of dialogs.

When it comes to directors - Denis Villeneuve, Hayao Miyazaki, Richard Linklater, Quentin Tarantino, Edgar Wright, Tommy Wiseau and Wes Anderson - I just love to watch their movies !

My favourite films of all time are The Room (2003), Ghost in the Shell (1995), Waking Life (2001), Fight Club (1999) and Mad Max : Fury Road (2015).

I have a special place in my heart for all those hysterically bad , SO BAD that they're graet, flicks - no matter who made them and when. (That said, the older - the better ! :D )

And books .. I read about one book per month, so it's not really that much to have a special taste for them. I just buy one if the premise sound interesting and that's all.

If beating cancer isn't enough, I kinda saved two people's lives by explaining to them that they should go to the hospital. One turned out to have a gangrene (so it's more about loosing an arm rather than life, but....), the other one got a heart attack just in front of cardiologist's door. Perfect timing for such things, I'd say ! :D

Enseña, aprende, comparte

At the moment, I'm learning French (slowly) and some Spanish along the way. Also slowly but still - any tips or opportunities to practice would make me thankful ! :D

...and frankly... I think that my english is quite good but somehow I only talked in english freely once in my entire life - with my Japanese teacher (aside from fake chats at English lessons and exams, which were always turning out great) - I'd really love to use my English a little bit more - in real conversations ;)

Since communication is such a great thing, we should try it out and share each other's cultures.
That said, culture is one thing, but it's really all about the people who make up for it. Individuals I mean, and that's why I want to meet you !

I'm getting into gardening recently - I read more and more about permaculture and things alike - If you have a veggie or fruit garden, I can try to help you some way - even if it is just sharing my thoughts and ideas. :D

(...and no - I don't speak Japanese :D )

Conversations ! If you ever wanna come visit Poland, I can give you a couple of tips about how to survive for a few days without getting into trouble :D

Of course sharing life's stories, philosophy and ideas is always a cool thing to do.

Since I don't have much experience, I can share my listening ears with you when it comes to stories about your travelling adventures ! :D

I'm not a chef, but I love cooking. My mom taught me some of our home recipes - sometimes I even manage to cook them the right way, so I can try that for you ! Yeah.. I'm not my mom, but still - I'll try ! :D
