About Me

I was born and raised in Campina Grande, the land of the greatest Brazilian June Festival. Moved to Piracicaba, then Raleigh-NC, and Edinburgh-UK. Been active only when I travel bc I now live in a small town off the beaten road in Minas Gerais State. What I enjoy most is traveling and hanging out with friends while listening to music and drinking a beer. Saúde!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I do like the idea of getting people at home, knowing them, providing tips on the region I'm living in... I got more involved with the CS community when I was living in the US - and I love it!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm trying to go to as many music concerts as I can. Some I've seen so far: Aerosmith, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Guns N' Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Roger Waters, Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi... I'd go with rock mostly, but I'm down for almost anything. I also went to Jazz Festival in New Orleans and loved it!

I enjoy action, sci-fi, and psychological thriller movies and shows, as well as sci-fi and biography books (the current one is "Chatô, o Rei do Brasil").

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been traveling for scientific events since I was 18 and always managed to extend my stay to get to know the places/culture/locals better...

During my trip to Kenya back in 2018, I ended up at a camping site off Masai Mara National Park in southern Kenya after 6 hours of "African massage" (which is what you get when driving through their rural roads) and an amazing safari experience. I barely slept, though I knew somebody was guarding the campsite against animals...

Recently, I managed to ride the train crossing the Swiss Alps from Italy... Really worth it!

Teach, Learn, Share

If somebody is interested, I'd be able to teach some Portuguese or how to make some Brazilian food, though I've mastered just a couple of dishes, including pão de queijo.

I always enjoy engaging in political and social topics as a way to understand the world around us.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hosts interested in traveling to Brazil or elsewhere I've been before may be able to learn from my past experiences. Experiences include partying, eating, drinking, or simply going around and about...

At home, you get to drink or eat whatever is available (there's always beer).
