Overview
About Me
Hi, this is Güven from Turkey, I'm so excited about travelling and discovering other lives...
CURRENT MISSION
At this moment all I want to do is to travel other countries (in future, with my daughter and make her a world citizen.)
ABOUT ME
I'm 43 years old single dad, I have a daughter 8 years old. Also I have 2 cats that we called Silly and Hercules(now only Hercules. RIP Silly). I've been working as teacher since 2007. I want to travel the world but my salary is not enough for this but I'm doing that as possible. Especially for my daughter.
I don't believe God(s), I believe people, I hate borders and nationalities. For me there is two kind of people in the world: "Good and bad ones". I'm trying to be one of good ones. I define myself as a world resident. Not a Turkish, not a Muslim, Christian, Budist. I'm an only simple humanbeing. I HAVE NO LABEL!
About hosting requests
Guys, please mention my name at least when you write a message, I really don't like copy paste messages. If you have less than 10 references (I mean hosting and surfing references, not personal ones) I want one confirmation at least. (Preferably ID confirmation) Or a detailed Instagram profile would work too.
I also don't like people who are only looking for a free room. If you will just come and stay at your room, it makes me feel like a fool. But of course if u have to deal with something (remote job or something else) and let me know it on your request, I don't mind it.
If you have never hosted before, I consider u as a "sponger". But if you're travelling the world for a long period and if you don't have a chance to host people, it is ok, my house's doors are open for u.
If you will come here with someone and you don't have a mutual account, you have to share his/her profile too.
Please mention my daughter's name Masal on your request so I can understand you've really read my profile.
Please write something personal. "I want to learn about your culture, I want share my travels" etc. I find these kind of messages very cliche.
PHILOSOPHY
I always say, "if you don't go, you can't see. If you don't see, you don't know. So hit the road!!!"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here because I like to travel but I have difficulties to connect with local people. That's annoying me and I'm trying to change that. CS is not free staying for me, it is new friends from all over the world, new experiences, new cultures, new foods, new views of life.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first experience was in Greece with a wonderful host. I had no reference but he left me (a guy he just met from another country) his key. I've been really impressed that behaviour.
After that I started to host people. My first guests were an amazing Japanese couple who travel the world. And I keep giving couch some other great people. That's an amazing and satisfying experience so far.
Interests
Playing guitar and writing songs. You can listen my songs on YouTube if you search "Güven Şerbetçi".
I'm crazy about motorbikes. Riding is a passion for me. I have a giant bike with 92 hp :)
I collect The Little Prince books in different languages for my daughter.

Lord of the Rings Trilogy, V for Vendetta, Shawshank Redemption, Reservoir Dogs, Leon, Snatch, 3 Idiots, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Forrest Gump, Good Will Hunting, Seven, Fight Club, Identity.
I like all alternative music. No pop/techno/trap etc. sh.t :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I jumped from a 25-30 meters height rock to the sea in Montenegro. I don't think I'll be that courageous again :)
Teach, Learn, Share
Share first, then learn, don't try to teach.
