One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have never traveled alone before, so when I decided to book a solo trip to Djijel in Algeria, I was both excited and nervous. I had heard about Couchsurfing from a friend and decided to give it a try.
As I arrived in Djijel, my first stop, I was welcomed by my Couchsurfing host, Amar, who was kind enough to offer me a room in his apartment. I was initially skeptical about staying with a stranger, but Amar was incredibly welcoming and hospitable.
Not only did he provide me with a comfortable place to sleep, but he also showed me around the city, took me to local restaurants and cafés introduced me to his friends. It was amazing to connect with locals and experience the city from a new perspective - one that I would not have been able to get from a hotel or tour guide.
My Couchsurfing experience continued as I traveled to other destinations in Skikda and Annaba. I met interesting people, had fascinating conversations and got to know the locals on a personal level. It was an unforgettable experience that not only made my trip more affordable but also enriched my travel experience.
I am grateful for the Couchsurfing community and the amazing hosts who opened their homes to me, making my trip one of the most memorable experiences of my life.
