关于我
CURRENT MISSION
getting to know myself while getting to know the world
ABOUT ME
I no longer live in Dubai! Please read it before sending me a message!!!!!
I'm currently making my life dream come true and I'm travelling around the world, so the first thing you gotta now about me is that I consider myself the luckiest being on this planet (and a very thankful one too!). :)
'If you asked my best friends about me', they would probably tell you that I'm crazy and yet very reliable, unpredictable in my plans but always there for them, adventurous but responsible, sensitive but tough, patient but hot-tempered, kind-hearted but assertive and always up for a drink but never getting smashed :) What I know about myself is that I definitely care about people more than I care about money and possessions. I care about inner balance more than I care about career and success. I love to help and give much more than I like to take. I am very very open, totally direct and honest. I am active and very enthusiastic and I generally like the same in other people. People often tell me I am unusually analytical and it's probably quite true; I love digging deep to understand the reasons behind human actions, the complex mechanisms of social dynamics and even more complicated ways in which the world works. I also love challenges, adventures and unpredictable situations and that's why I'm heavily addicted to travelling, hitch-hiking and couch surfing :) Ooops, I nearly forgot! Apparently I am a big talker and very much of a social animal but on the other hand, I simply adore listening to people and I am also a big fan of being by myself.
Here's my current (Israeli) phone number (in case of a CS emergency:)): 0543179561.
PHILOSOPHY
I strongly believe in humanity beyond borders and I try to focus on the beautiful features that we all have in common rather that concentrating on insignificant differences. I approach everybody as an indiviual regardless of his or her national/ethnic/racial/gender/ideological background. I am allergic to prejudice and generalisation. I do not hate and consider hatred and intolerance the core of most of our problems and the most destructive phenomena possible.
Another one is greed. As Gandhi said: 'The Earth produces enough for man's need but not enough for man's greed'. Therefore even though I live my life to the full, I do it modestly and also bear in mind those who have less than me. Extravagance, consumptionism and blind career-making are simply painful for me to witness.
What gives my life meaning is constant learning and growth, never-ceasing movement but first and foremost, deep connection with people and nature.
I completely rely on my guts and I often let life take decisions for me. Even though the consequences of always listening to the voice of my heart (and guts :)) were often revolutionary and sometimes even painful, all in all my approach took me to a point where I am truly happy and I can look back at my life with a sincere smile.
My actions always stem from my desire to be morally pure or in other words, to feel if not good, then at least comfortable with myself and having guilty conscience as rarely as possible ;) Therefore, whatever I do I try to do it to the best of my abilities, I try to be considerate and compassionate, I always keep my promises and I am generally incapable of lying.
What keeps me excited in life is my uncertain, unpredictable and unknown future, the people I'll get to meet, the places I'll see, the knowledge I'll gain, the lessons life will teach me, the interests I'll develop, the person I'll be in 30 years...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted people (I'd also done it even before I officially joined CS). I have been hosted by a lot of wonderful couchsurfers from all over the world. I attended some really great CS meetings in different countries. While living in Dubai I'd meet people for coffee/drink and show them around.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Simply a beautiful experience proving that we're all one most of the time. Even when it wasn't perfect, it was still always fascinating and an interesting lesson to learn from.

TRAVELLING, TRAVELLING, TRAVELLING,hitch-hiking, exploring, stories in any possible form, learning, teaching, sharing, sailing, swimming, cycling, walking and staring at places and people while imagining what they're like and what their lives are like, hiking, history, anthropology, cinema and film theory, food (in many different senses),watching people dance and/or dancing (even though it takes a bottle of vodka for me to go on a dance floor), learning and using languages, travel photography and literature, (particularly Russian) literature, psychology, sociology, politics, modern theatre, hanging out with kids, learning from them and about them, figuring out how to become a better person and what the world is about, dreaming about my future travel destinations and adventures, not having a clue what future might bring, having existential conversations with the most random people at the end of the world, sun and wind. To be continued...

音乐、电影和书籍
I'm a big movie buff and on average I watch 3-4 movies a week, so it's really difficult for me to list the movies I like. Thankfully, in the last 10 or more years of my cinematographic searches, I managed to find a movie that I consider perfect in all respects and it's 'The Commissar' by A. Askoldov. Watch it and you'll know what I mean by good cinema.

Languages, children psychology, a bit of neuroscience and psychology, sailing, history, politics, linguistics, Eastern European culture and languages, European (and not only) cinema, geography, alternative house-building, lots and lots of travel stories and advice on how to pack, move and adapt to life in new locations around the globe, how to travel the world, hitch-hike successfully anywhere you choose, making friendships that overcome superficial divisions and surviving in any travel conditions :) And a bit of everything!
