About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy civilization (I enjoy nature a lot already)

ABOUT ME

I'm a social worker. Yes, that is what I do for a living, but it also says a lot about who I am. I genuinely care about people. I am a practical problem solver. I can find something positive in almost any situation, and I basically listen for a living. That being said, I crack a lot of jokes - many of them dark, bawdy, or of some other ridiculous nature. I like high quality food and art that isn't necessarily pretty. I enjoy music, but I am not an audiophile (I wish my ears were that good).

PHILOSOPHY

Be in the present as much as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

New to couchsurfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet. I'm here for a reason. I am a social person living in the mountains. They are beautiful, quiet, and I adore them. I want to add more sounds to my life - music, laughter, and conversation. I see two ways couchsurfing could help. One is giving me more opportunities to go to visit cities. The other is having interesting people come to us.

Interests

I like to talk about the things you aren't supposed to talk about - politics, religion, sex.

I walk in the woods, dig in the dirt, pick heavy things up and put them back down, and sling a stick around in the water.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've enjoyed reading Barbara Kingsolver, Ron Rash, Tom Robbins, Richard Bach, Charles Bukowski, Carl Hiaassen, and Christopher Moore.

I've never been a huge movie person, but we get a red envelope a couple times a month. I think I'm going dig into some Bond flicks.

My musical tastes are diverse. I grew up listening to beach music and classic country. I still love both. When I lived in Atlanta, I got the blues. Live bluegrass can be heavenly, but I rarely want to hear a recording. Reggae almost always makes me happy. I have a massive girlcrush on Neko Case. I will still like a rock band when it becomes popular, and it is no longer cool to do so.
