My current mission is to build a base from which I can launch grand schemes and adventures.

ABOUT ME

I'm interested in people and I always have been. I'm fascinated by the pursuit of the good life and like to grow some food. I like cooking and eating good food. I sometimes enjoy a glass of wine or two.

I like to understand things and am curious about why and how people do what they do. I work in mental health care and so I'm interested in how people think and feel about what they do. While this might sound a bit heavy you've got to laugh about these things and I often do.

PHILOSOPHY

People are wonderfully weird. Every last one. 'There's nowt as queer as folk', as we say in Yorkshire.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couch surfing is a wonderful idea. Travel is an amazing thing that teaches us so many things but what it has always taught me is that people almost always want to help, that something will always turn up and I like that couch surfing can make that easier.

I really like to have visitors to my home and I very much want to help if I can. I also hope that when I begin my own epic journey away from home that I will have begun to build connections with good people who can help me along my way.

Interests

Gardening - I have an allotment and a garden and a greenhouse. I'm starting to get good at growing flowers and vegetables. It makes me very happy to spend time in the garden or to plan what I will grow next. Reading - I love to read and will happily get lost in books for days at a time. We read to know we are not alone. Music - It is another language and shares so much. I will listen to almost anything and love to be introduced to anything new. Cooking - I like to eat good food and love to make it too. I very much enjoy cooking for others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I continue to live and love and laugh and see others live and love and laugh. There are lots of other things I've done but this never stops amazing me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I spend a lot of time in my head or talking about what's in other people's heads. I can give quite a bit of insight into this stuff but I'd love to hear from people with practical skills like musical skills or fixing stuff...

I am always up for a debate on values and ethics.
