About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To actually LIVE every day.
ABOUT ME
I am fascinated by small things, like a spider's web, and big things, like the Alps, and nearly everything in between! I'm open-minded enough to believe that what we can touch isn't all there is. Travel changes you, broadens your thinking, your understanding, your soul. I want to take in as much of this marvelous planet and it's inhabitants and experiences as I can.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe it's okay to eat dessert first. Respect the earth and each other. Live each day as if you might not have tomorrow, because you just never know when your number will be up! Make a Bucket List and work on it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted a LOT of people in the past seven years and enjoyed every single visit. Some outshine others, but I've never yet had a negative or even neutral experience. I surfed my way through Europe and learned first-hand what surfers need and want. I hope this has made me an even better host now that I am back home!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted a fair number of couch surfers, all awesome! I love this concept! I'm looking forward to doing a lot of surfing and seeing the world from other people's perspectives.
Interests
Hiking, kayaking, reading, snowshoeing, white water rafting, snorkeling every chance I get. Have tried and enjoyed zip lining, cave mapping, rapelling, climbing, paragliding, surfing. Want to try body boarding, parasailing, zorbing, wind surfing. And I'd like to experience nearly every country/culture there is! I also volunteered for the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, the Montana Rescue Mission, and other organizations until my recent move to Michigan. But other than that, I'm a couch potato ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
Souza wrote: For a long time it seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life. This perspective has helped me to see there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. So treasure every moment you have and remember that time waits for no one. Happiness is a journey, not a destination.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Poking molten lava with a stick in Hawaii.
The Sistine Chapel.
Michelangelo's David.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've found that surfers teach me things that I never even knew I wanted to learn about! Have YOU ever heard Mongolian Throat Singing in person? ;) And the exchange of books, movies, music, places to travel to, is downright amazing! Foods and cultures get shared spontaneously. The list goes on and on.
