About Me

I am researcher in the field of neuroscience. I am obsessed with how the nervous system initiate movements. I have also been out exploring the brain and its relationship with heart, lungs, kidneys and gut.

My area of interests are movement neuroscience, movement disorders, human performance optimisation, human physiology in extreme conditions. Therefore I am mostly studying individuals with movement disorders or dancers, athletes and musicians.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will be honest. I am an impulsive and spontaneous traveller. I am mostly travelling for work i.e. either for work meetings, conferences or other events. Beside that when I travel I do not search on the internet, I ask people around or around the train/bus station and decide where to go.

So in short getting to the bus or train station and deciding to go to places I have no idea of have brought many experiences. I have been to places that have nothing to see or to do. And I have been to places that were too beautiful for me to believe in it.

Recently I made a trip to the west of Sundarbans in West Bengal after presenting my research at conference. That places is made up of small islands, so you're basically hopping islands. Surprisingly on one of the island out there I met these other two academicians on field study trying to certain species on reptiles and amphibians in that region. I had such a great time with them.

This incident reminded me of the people I had met earlier who would tell me about CS and ask me join. So here I am. trying to connect with people, share travelling experiences, my work and life. :P

Plus, I have been contributing on google maps to help out others. I like helping people and it's the best way to connect to people. The field I work in is also because I want to help the society move freely.
