About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Opening teenagers minds, one book at a time.
ABOUT ME
I'm the librarian at a local high school, I have two teenage children, a boy and a girl. I live with my family in Yorktown, Virginia. I'm very interested in other cultures; I've been fortunate enough to have traveled a bit and I love meeting new people. I lived in Angers, France for a school year (many years ago) and I'm returning to Paris next summer to attend school at L'Alliance Française. I'd like to meet some folks to stay with to practice my language skills.
PHILOSOPHY
Minds are like parachutes; they work best when they're open.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I can't offer a couch anymore due to my husband's security clearance. :(
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm a total newbie at this. My husband thinks I'm crazy but I think this is a wonderful way to meet new people.
Interests
I am hopelessly in love with Paris; I've been there several times and love it more every time I go. I love to walk the neighborhoods and discover new places. I love to cook, read, knit and of course walk.

Music, Movies, and Books
"Amélie" is one of my all time favorite movies; I love the films of Audrey Tatou. I like "foreign" movies in general, and I like talking about them afterwards. "To Kill a Mockingbird" is a favorite book, and I'm very fond of '80's music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Having children has been the greatest adventure ever. Sometimes wonderful, sometimes challenging, never boring!
Teach, Learn, Share
Everyone has something to teach others, and we can all learn from each other.
