I'm a small town, country boy. I appreciate the slower way of life in the rural setting, but still like to get out to appreciate the cultures of other destinations.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't think I've ever made a personal philosophy for myself. If it helps, I'd describe myself as an adventerous and open minded conservative!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm willing to host on most occassions, with prior notice. I'm a newbie here, so I'm waiting to see what it brings. As a host, I'm imagining that I'll be likely helping out those traveling (be car) across the United States on I80, as I only live about a mile from the exit.

Interests

Well, in my younger years, a friend and I always planned a short trip to Chicago every summer to watch a couple of baseball games. We never had room reservations (partly because we were being adventerous, and partly because we were too cheap). Our luck went about 50/50. We would find great Chicagoans on numerous occassions who opened their homes to us, and other times, we slept on park benches or at the air port. This of course was before this website existed.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love 90 alt, but will listen to almost anything. I'm mostly a magazine and junk mail kind of reader, but will pick up a book that Operah recommended every year or so.
