About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I took a year off, packed my bikini and hopped onto a plane towards Brazil...my life long dream. And now I'm here, learning Portuguese as best as I can (my main mission) and opening my eyes to Latin America. Next year, I'm hoping to go back to school...
ABOUT ME
I was born in havana Cuba some soon to be 28 years ago. I then grew up Miami, FL, USA. When I was thirteen I moved to Paris France where my mother was originally from. This explains the 3 "expert" level languages. Hehe.
I graduated from a Masters in International and European Laws and decided to take a year out to travel and open my eyes, nose and ears on the world...well, on the american continent at least! I'm currently in Brazil where I landed a month ago seeking an internship. Since then, life has taken an interesting twist and as time goes by the internship idea has evaporated leaving way to life in Brazil with brazilians.
I'm curious to SEE how the world works, feel it...something we rarely do in a stale university library where we're stuffed to the brim with theory. Then again, without Uni, I'm not sure I'd be as equipped to understand things today. In other words one completes the other...sorry I'm getting tangled in all these words!
In any case, I'm having very happy travels so far...the Earth rocks!
PHILOSOPHY
this may sound trivial to some, sad to others and completely irrelevant to the last but here it goes: "it's not what you wear, it's how you wear it". However, I'd like to think that I don't solely live my life for cloths because there are so many more (and transcending) things in life on Earth.
Does anyone know why they live their lives? No one chose to be born but now that we're here we may as well make the best of it and follow our gut as we pave our paths.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've so far hosted 1 person by the couch surfing webpage but have hosted so many more people than that in my lovely home in Paris.
Particularly one time, I was coming home from school and a couple asked me where they could set up their tent in the street. It was so cold and drizzling that I took'em up for the night. It was spontaneous, fun and so far the best surf experience (except for the part where their puppy peed on my rug...haha).
Other than that, I've met up with a few couch surfers in my hometown (Paris) for a drink and some dinner. I'm always happy to do that!
Interests
I'm into meeting new people and traveling (which is pretty much a given since I'm on this website).
I like law and I LOVE music. I sing in a jazz band in Paris. I'd go dancing any day just to dress up and boogie down.
I'm interested in photojournalism and human rights. But I'm not quite sure that's the professional path I want to take yet.
I like lazying around with friends in parks, reading books and playing cards. I like giggling, cooking, smoking cigarettes after I've been for a swim in the sea. I guess, in short, I'm into life.
