About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Bridge gaps, be open to learning other cultures & ways of being and seeing the world. Swim in the diversity of life as a way of expanding in greater compassion and personal growth.
PHILOSOPHY
Do unto others....
Always aware of the need to overcome and expand. After 3 months in Ethiopia, came back to the over abundance of the USA and have been happy to help several young boys I met on the street there and proud to stay the course and attend their college graduations and see them become professionals and doing well in life. Living with locals has proven to be more expansive and more real than traveling as a tourist.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Enjoy the personal experience of hosting and making travel affordable and doable as we extend the generosity of spirit and good will it promotes. Hosted 2 AuPairs from Belgium and someone here needing a place while preparing to move for a new job. Showed them places they were interested in seeing and had them join me in activities. Have been hosted in foreign countries and find the personal learning that takes place far better than an often faceless hotel.
Interests
Self improvement and then trying to implement the learning in daily life. Enjoy documentaries, art films, movies, live lectures, diverse subjects, yoga, being around beauty and beautiful environments... flowers, water, meeting new people... photography... listening to authors... reading, writing, travel, driving... sunny days and being warm.

Music, Movies, and Books
Just read "Eat, Pray, Love" and "Committed." Now "The Sea," and "Travels with Charlie." Love books and movies that are true stories.. Foreign films, "Mad Men" and Doc Martin on TV, Movie "Despicable Me," Eclectic and varied... sometimes deep and sometimes fun or funny...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walked on 2,000 hot coals. No,didn't get burned.
Became a flight attendant at age 43, and then again at age 50. Saw an egret become a daily visitor to my folks in Florida... fly in, walk into the garage and into the kitchen like it was her own. Birthed a most wonderful son who is a gift to mankind. Went to South Africa without any plan of where to stay or what to do and enjoyed every minute of the 2 weeks. Went to Ethiopia for 3 months and visited with lepars and many in need. Had dental work done in Tijuana, Mexico, was hit by a car at night in Scotland and survived it.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach those who don't or haven't traveled about ways to do it ... how to make the world a friendly place.
What to know about Balloon Animals and the clown business... How to become resourceful and live frugally.
