About Me

I am a mature young adult, currently travelling through Central America and loving every moment! I grew up on the outskirts of London and then studied at university in central London. I have been abroad to numerous countries within Europe, but this is my first big excursion outside of Europe. I have worked as a lifeguard, in administration in a school and in retail as a sales assistant. Having always maintained a part time or full time job since the age of 16, I understand the values of hard work and organisation.

I have loved meeting new people during my travels and sharing experiences. Everyone I've met has always said I am super easy going and therefore very easy to get along with. I am attempting to learn and practise my broken Spanish as I travel, although proving harder to keep up these days. I would love for anyone who could host me to help me with my Spanglish.

I enjoy the simple things in life, I.e. taking dogs on walks, exploring ancient buildings and museums or just sitting on a beach all day and reading a book. However, I also love challenging myself, and have been keen to try as many new things as possible during my travels, such as snorkelling and hiking.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am keen to meet new people during my trip and to experience the life of a local, therefore couch surfing appealed to me greatly! During this current trip, I made a close friend who told me a quote that I have always remembered and believe applies to the idea of Couch surfing. "When you have more than you need, don't build your fences higher, build your table longer" (not sure who the quote originated from)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love listening to music, my favourite genre being reggae or old hip-hop when I'm chilling out, then UK garage, melodic dubstep and grime when I'm going out. However, I am very open to new sounds and new artists!

I enjoy reading literature or penguin classic books such as To Kill A Mockingbird- Harper Lee, or One Hundred Years Of Solitude- Gabriel Garcia Marquez. But I also recently fell in love with Shantaram- Gregory David which I've read during my travels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done was volcano boarding down the Cerro de Negro in Nicaragua just outside of Leon. Amazing hike and wicked slide down the volcanic rocks afterwards!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my English and hope I can be taught some Spanish too! Also great at recommending places to visit in London and it's nightlife!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Barbados, Belize, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Portugal, Spain, United States
