HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

"Die Welt zu Gast bei Freunden..."

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing experience as a host was during the football World Cup in 2006.
I went to a "public viewing" with some friends to see a football match. When I got to the train station to get back to Saarbrücken, I met a couple who were stranded at the train station because they missed their last train. I told them that I live in SB and they could stay at my place for the night.
They were very grateful, we had a nice talk and it was nice to help someone, according to the World Cup's topic: "Die Welt zu Gast bei Freunden", which means "The world as a guest among friends".
It was years later when I discovered couchsurfing for the first time but it fits my philosophy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I participated in a camp for kids with a troubled family background. Our team was just great and we took care of 30 kids for two weeks. Hardest two weeks of my life but also the best.
