Overview
About Me
Some of this may be a bit dated, as of June ‘21. Still easier than rewriting my whole story rn
CURRENT MISSION
Saving up, paying off; just starting out
ABOUT ME
The smart older brother was my primary story, so a lot derives from that..... Wait, are we supposed to self-psychoanalyze here? Well i do like being on the couch - napping actually is something i really value, on and off, depending on the work cycle. Anyway, i try to be friendly, and if you're down to hear about random crap that may be only cursorily related to what we were talking about, we'll never have an awkward silence. Also, dog person, more so since Grizz came into our family's life last year, he's damn cute.
PHILOSOPHY
We shouldn't idealize the "simplicity" of the past, because many elements of the past were actually not so great, which is why humans have collectively decided to move forward. Without progress from our animal roots we wouldn't have our modern, imperfect, but amazing, society.
In about 60 years all humans will be able to have whatever they want (and no, it won't be boring, we can discuss that), so I just have to figure out what I want by then.
It seems pretty obvious that searching incessantly for something that you never don't want to do, someone(s) to be passionate with, and non-suffering be key.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfed in the past, now hosting a bit.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I surfed all over Germany while in Europe in 2011. All great experiences, with interesting conversation, good home-cooked food, and very comfortable lodging. :)
.... And on Spring Break 2013 in the South. Same ^

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiking anywhere usually leaves a pretty marked memory. Some dark nights on the road, just wanting to get there by dawn, will always be with me.
Balloon ride for Grandma Dorothy's 80th bday was p badass.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think i could teach a bit about why one should not despair about all the things that seem to be wrong about the modern world. I would like to learn how to cook (well) without following a recipe. I'll share a good amount, just ask w/o presuming i'll be offended by it!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Wide-ranging conversational interests; a defensible opinion on most current topics; an open mind and ear to hear your thoughts
Also, if there's a local brewery I'll likely visit & buy some to share, if you're interested
