About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Aspiring world traveler

ABOUT ME

I've been all over the United States, but have never been outside of North America. Clearly I need to fix that soon, which is part of why I'm here. I'm hoping to do a long-term round-the-world trip starting in the next few months. I enjoy visiting new cities, but my real passion when I travel is scenery of the non-manmade variety.

PHILOSOPHY

"Get busy living, or get busy dying". (A total cliche, but I feel it's ok because the Shawshank Redemption is one of my favorite movies)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far, but looking to change that!

Interests

I'm an active person, and like anything outdoors: hiking, backpacking, kayaking, canoeing, bicycling, running, visiting beautiful places. Plus music, movies, reading. I always enjoy trying new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to most music, anything from rock to pop to some country and classical. Judging from what Amazon recommends to me, I'm apparently a huge Taylor Swift fan?

When I was in elementary school the librarian called me "Mr. Non-fiction" because that's all I ever read, and for the most part it's something I haven't outgrown. History and outdoors/environment-related books are my main interests.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Can I pick two? 1- I spent close to a month backpacking the Long Trail, a 270-mile hiking trail across Vermont. I started by myself but met a lot of amazing people along the way. 2- after college I took the summer off and went on a road trip across the United States. The scenery in the west is breathtaking. I'd like to do a similar "random wandering" type trip, but this time around the world.
