ABOUT ME

I am the youngest of 3 girls, so my life experiences have been limited. I spent 18 years of my life in a small rural town in NH until I spread my wings and moved 13 hours away to NC. To expand my horizons even more, I am now studying abroad in Wales and enjoying every minute!

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to love...love the neighbor, love the stranger! If everyone took one situation a day to help someone else the world would be such a better place. Throughout my daily life I look for opportunities to preform Random Acts of Kindness. If an elderly lady needs help with her groceries, I'm there; if some little kid needs to find mommy, I'm there...its the simple things in life that mean the most.

I am attending college at High Point University in North Carolina. I have my own apartment with an extra room so I would LOVE to have some one surf!

Interests

I'm interested in the world!...anything and everything in it: people, places, stories, experiences, etc. As a history major, anything thats really old makes me really excited! :) I'm a little nerdy, but come on, who isn't? I love looking at a particular area and trying to discover where it came from and what happened there...for me there's nothing better!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am an absolute movie junkie! War movies are probably my favorite. My dad and I are always looking for the next good one...on the list already are Saving Private Ryan, We Were Soldiers, Flags of Our Fathers, Black Hawk Down, and others. I'm also obsessed with Pixar movies...Finding Nemo is just a source of genius! Other that, I like chick flicks and stuff like that. Can't stand stupid movies...you know, the movies that have absolutely no point other than being stupid...yeah, I hate those!

I'm not one of those super crazy about music people. I love country and beyond that I like everything else! I am not one of those people who will only listen to 'their music' because the rest is crap. No, I'm always up for anything...except for the screaming music, at that point its just screaming and that's annoying!

Books are a sore subject for me. As a history major I have to read a million and one historical pieces in which historians bicker about who died when or whom influenced them the most...blah! However, I love historically accurate novels. Such as Killer Angels by Michael Shaara. I find these wonderful because they recreate the action...the conversations, the experiences, the wounds...these books allow you to feel the history versus debate the inaccuracies of our interpretations! Besides historical novels, I like books such as The Other Boylen Girl, Ella Enchanted, Eragon, The Lord of the Rings, Dan Brown's DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons (despite his obvious disregard for historical accuracy!), all books by John Grisham, and so many more! I would love to get more into the historical classics of Dickens and such, but as of yet, I have not been moved to do so! Thus, I pretty much don't have a particular type...kinda like them all!

Teach, Learn, Share

Take every single opportunity to jump outside your comfot zone. Regardless of how stupid or scary it may seem, you will learn soooo much in the process. As a warning though, use common sense and don't do dangerous stupid things!
