About Me

***If you're requesting a couch, please read through the info about "my home" as I have some special considerations. I only respond to messages where this was done (thus the low response rate--a lot of folks do the copy/paste) since I believe CS is about seeking connections people who are a good fit for your travel adventures. I'm a little bit busier these days and would prefer to open my home to those who want to spend time exchanging stories and sharing experiences.

ABOUT ME

I love learning about other cultures and seeing first-hand what life is like in different areas. The world is a big beautiful place and I wish I could spend all my time exploring it.

I'm a humor-loving lady who has a save-the-world complex. I tend to over-hyphenate often but not really, just checking to see if you're actually reading my profile. I'm pretty busy trying to do everything that interests me, so you'll find me either in a state of go-go-go or taking a much needed relaxing break. My latest love has been taking solo camping trips with my pup in the state of Wisconsin.

PHILOSOPHY

Not too much, not too little--life is about balance and compromise. And you should always be up for learning, improving, and growing as a person because let's face it, nobody knows everything so it's best to work out the solution together.

"If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration"

"We get high on all types of drug, when all you really need is love"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I met an amazing CS group in Cherbourg with who i participated in local events, small weekend trips, and even travel during school breaks. Upon returning to the US, I quickly joined the Milwaukee CS group and met all those crazy kids, met up with travelers for coffee and drinks, and have been hosting when time allows me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Budapest: intriguing and informative family consisting of an English teacher and her two children
Rennes: CS meet up trance music festival-met loads of interesting people and had a great time in a great city
Amsterdam: a witty couple that kept me laughing
Berlin: stayed with a fascinating compatriot that helped make our experience better by showing us around the local hangouts and eateries
Prague: a wordly Czech who shared both the experience of discovering interesting treasures outside of the city and also her thoughts on life (and of course the pleasure of meeting Yaya, her pregnant puppy!)
Cherbourg: my home for an amazing 7 months that I'll never forget--a CS group of open-minded (sometimes crazy) individuals that keep this small town hopping with their wide variety of events
Milwaukee: Gotten to know the CS group quite well here and love planning events big or small...we're all just a big group of friends at this point!

Interests

Being active through sports, yoga, hiking, biking, and dancing (fusion belly dancer). Writing poetry. Reading. Discovering new music. Watching movies and some TV shows on occasion, but mainly at home not really a movie theater-type-person. I loooove comedy, and have even tried giving stand-up a go. Life is funny, yeah?

Music, Movies, and Books

Variety variety, I'm up for whatever speaks well or sounds good.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being 4000 m up in the Himalayan mountains while traveling through India. It was both the amazing view and the fact that I had just overcome a major physical and psychological challenge to reach that point.

Teach, Learn, Share

I studied and am very intrigued by geography--both physical and social, but mainly social. I care a lot about the whole question of people and place.

Hmm for things that I can teach...French, belly dancing, ping pong, dog training

What I like to learn: languages, dances, cooking technoques, or whatever interesting thing you have to share :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, India, Morocco, Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
