About Me

I have had school for a little too long, and my academic life has been far too demanding. I am planning on studying robotics in the US after my gap year, but precisely because of reason, I need a gap year. To decompress and such. And what better way to do that than to travel the world (well not the whole world but a couple of countries in Europe)

In my free time, I do a lot of things, hence, I never really get enough "free time". If my mood is right for debugging and staring at a computer screen for a couple of hours, I do programming. If I want something more relaxed, with a nice cup of tea and some cookies, I write. And I want to lie down, I usually read something or watch something. On sunnier days, you can find me out with friends, volunteering or biking and hiking around.
Now that I am on my backpacking trip, my days consist of walking through the city, and whenever I feel like it, entering a shop or a museum. Maybe going to a rock climbing gym and of course, taking many photos of the everyday life of each city, as well as the grand structures.

Places visited:
Hamburg - Germany,
Amsterdam, the Hague, and Utrecht - Netherlands
Lille and Lyon - France
Lucerne and Ennetbeurgen - Switzerland
Bobbio, San Martino, Genoa, Pisa and Rome - Italy
Patras, Athens and Thessaloniki - Greece
Sofia and Varna - Bulgaria

Currently:
Romania

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am planning a backpacking trip through Europe. Planning on visiting 12 countries in around 3 months. The reason I am on couchsurfer is because I want to see each country through the lens of the locals. Of course one can visit a city, go to the tourist attractions but I think one can only experience the culture of a country if they are actually immersed in it. And secondly, it is the easiest way to socialize with people from different countries.

Music, Movies, and Books

Because I have watched a lot of movies, and I do mean a lot. There are a lot of movies that I "like", but that is very conditional, based on the mood and the people I am with. However, my go to movie is: About Time. For something a bit more attention-demanding: Arrival.
Same thing with books.
Favorite book: Replay
Favorite book trilogy: Broken Empire

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I suppose if I write the interesting things here, then what are we to talk about?

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn about the little details about a city or neighborhood. Is there an especially good bakery around? Is there a really cool bench in a park? Stuff like these.
I can teach a little about the Norwegian culture and politics and such. In a way "Take you on a journey" to norway, for a couple of hours at least.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Interesting conversation about anything and everything as well as a bit of Norwegian culture if they are up for it.
I am not a particularly good cook, but I am willing to help out anywhere I can and maybe even become a better cook after this 3 months.

Countries I’ve Visited

Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, South Korea, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

Norway
