About Me
**I reside in Madison, Wisconsin in USA, doing my Masters in International Affairs, but checking information about Myanmar is welcome! To add some info here (as of 26/Jan/2025), it is possible to travel Myanmar as long as you stick with the main cities and tourist areas (Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay, Ngwe Saung, Kalaw, Taungyi). Regional cities/towns like Sagaing, Sittwe, Loikaw, etc., as well as countryside areas, are no longer advised to travel (States such as Rakhine, Kachin, Karen, Kayah, Chin etc.). Massive numbers of young people are leaving the country due to the conscription law by the Burmese military. Please respect the locals, and don't buy into the ideas of social influencers boasting how cheap and safe the country is. Everyone is struggling to survive under this crazy military regime and disastrous inflation, but to strive in these given conditions with resilience.
