I am an agricultural engeneer and work as a freelancer with my own enterprise as an consultant for farm economy and organic farming allover Germany. My (professional, in german) website is www.redelberger.info Through my work, I have the opportunity to travel, mainly in the countryside and in remote places. I love nature and gardening, art, painting, drawing. Sports like dancing, hiking, biking, mountaineering, inline skating in a moderate manner. Craft work and wood chucking. Living at the countryside in Guxhagen, close to Kassel, right in the centre of Germany. I am reducing my work to get the opportunity to travel more like in the past. Nevertheless I like my region, my home and my garden as well. So I stay most of the time in my village and I love it. I love visiting local events like music festivals culture, independent cinema, art, exhibitions and so on. I am very much interested in history, whether that of my area or that of your homeland.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Living in a reasonable big house with garden with space for Guests, own attic room, own room with bath, couch on ground floor without stairs or tent in Garden., whatever you prefer. I like to welcom people from time to time. Couchsurfing in Guxhagen (near Kassel). You will find a private room with a double bed and a couch. Sheets, Towels, Breakfast :) I like to meet people from allover the world, talk with them in German, English, Spanish or French and learn about styles of living, thoughts and mentalities. I`d like to learn another language.

I love this work, but now it is time for new topics and destinations. I plan to retire within the next 18 months and enhance my travelling. My travel destinations are my heart in the inside and the heart of other humans and people on the outside. I would be glad to meet you on the journey.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Marrying and getting two unique sons as a gift. Both of them very much interested and involved in human, social and political issues

Traveled to Ghana, Congo and Zambia, visited small villages and local Farmers, Rain Forest, Congo and Sambesi River and Victoria Falls.

Some touching events:
One day there was a meeting with neighbours and friends of my university colleague Seraphin from DR Congo. We sat in the garden, looking at Congo River in Pompage, Kinshasa, DR Congo. Everyone told the story of his life and how she or he met his spouse or partner. Among them were some old people who already were grown up when Lumumba was president of the first african independent nation and met their partners being involved in political rumours. Very touching.
We visited Farmers in Ngudiabaka village, about 2 hours foot march from the edge of Kinshasa - I was impressed by their strong will to survive as well as by their skills in managing a tough life. During 3 days stay no car passed or any other motor noise occured. Met people runnig their live under severe conditions with real dignity. Impressive and tough people. E.g. two school girls aged 17, during holiday carrying big bags of charcoal a distance of more than 30 km to town for sale. I feel great respect for everybody of them.

I lived three months at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana within the campus, all the time among Ghanian students while working in Cape Coast town. That was the time when I experienced and celebrated the most lively and exiting parties ever.

Visiting art exhibitions. cinemas, moving by car, bike or public transport and hiking in nature. Very much interested in history of mankind and people, I can tell you things about German / Hessian / Bavarian / Franconian / Northern Hesse local culture and history.
