Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite movie: Lost in Translation
Music: Too much to list, but Ani Difranco has been a long time favorite.
Books: Augusten Burroughs is my favorite author.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I stumbled upon a primary school while in Jamaica (2010) and the principal welcomed me and my travel partner into the school with open arms. They gave us a tour of the (very small) school and we chatted and played with the children. They didn't have a playground; just an open dirt space. We laughed and danced and hugged until we had to leave to catch our bus.
In 2004 I attended the March for Women's Lives rally in Washington, DC. I'd never been a part of such a large demonstration and the experience was amazing, marching alongside thousands of compassionate people, fighting for change together.
I love love love cheesy roadside attractions. The world's largest ball of twine, ball of stamps, concrete garden gnome... Basically, if it's the "World's Largest" anything, I want to find it.
