Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

Curiosity. Maybe meet some fun friends. A close buddy of mine does a lot of hosting of couchsurfers and some of it spills over to me. Dinner parties, sailing excursions and the like. I enjoy hosting, actually. And I travel as a hobby, so you never know when having been a host might have been good karma.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I'm pretty catholic in my taste in music. Classical? Prefer baroque and romantic periods. Pop music? Please no gooey love songs. Head banging music? Not so much. Blues or blues rock is more my style. Country? Love bluegrass and older country/folk. Jazz? Love it. Not too self indulgent though. Rap? Never quite made that scene. Really a child of the late 60s 70s. Musically literate - I have built a few electric guitars over the years, and can bang out a few chords.

Movies? Not so much into shoot-em-up and gratuitous violence, or sappy love stories. That leaves quite a bit of room in the middle . Favourite movies? O Brother and Henry & June. I tend to watch a lot of movies on Netflix. Rare that I hit cinemas. Sometimes, for special occasions.

Books? Yes. I'll read trash and classics, academic and just goofy fun books. Literacy gives me an inner life.
