About Me
Happy traveler from Sweden, living in Visby at Gotland where I work as a doctor in medicine! Want to enjoy life to its fullest and make use of all the possibilities that present itself. I find people in general extremely fascinating and try to be as openminded as humanly possible.
I would say I'm pathologically curious, always wanting to learn something new, and I have a childish fascination for exploring. I love getting inspired, and am usually easily impressed. I respect selflessness, I admire fearlessness, I envy contentment, I despise intolerance. I enjoy spending time with people with a similar mindset, but with divergent experiences and interests. I especially like to be pushed to live my life more outside the box, and to go on mid-week adventures and other kinds of shenanigans.
INTERESTS
* Music is my life and I sing heaps, mainly choral singing and barbershop. I play the piano, learn the harmonica and wish I could play double bass.
* Love all outdoorsy stuff obviously, and during summertime I will amuse my coworkers by arriving to the hospital with my sleeping bag attached to the bike.
* My fascination for languages is real, I write, read, have been studying public speaking and am circle leader of a “word of the day”-group. The dream would be to be fluent in Arabic, Icelandic and Chinese.
* Just being creative, if it's not my daily breakfast-painting, it's building a sauna out of a tent or creating glove-faces for the kids at the ED.
* People. I am fascinated with the body (being a doctor and all), the mind, social structures, cultures. I love all kind of social interactions; joking around in a foolish manner as well as engaging in philosophical midnight discussions.
* You often find me at a bar desk with a cup of coffee or a beer. Best place for some writing, people spotting or to meet interesting souls. Inspiration comes naturally in the buzzy atmosphere.
I have way too many interest and they change regularly. My most recent ones are harmonica and botany, I thought my latin would help me, but man there are many names of plants. I am now trying to figure out what’s next: literature, language, writing or maybe mycology?

Music, Movies, and Books
I am terrible in memorizing names of artist and songs but I listen to music non stop. Right now I listen to a lot of Icelandic music such as Sigur Rós and Olafur Arnalds, but I never say no to some good 70´s tunes. Once I got compared to Janis Joplin and it made my day!
All books are better than no books and I can't pick a favorite. Don DeLillo, Astrid Lindgren and Oscar Wilde are idols.
I rarely watch movies (I knoooow), but when I do it's usually something a friend pick.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once I built a raft and paddled down a stream for five days. In thunderstorm.
I’ve been working with whale research in northern Norway. Oh the ocean!
I can say I’ve performed on Broadway, even though we were around 150 people on stage.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you the names of every single bone in the body, how to identify different types of whales depending on their blow and some Swedish drinking songs.
I am confident you could teach me heaps of stuff and I'm literally not fussed about what. The more weird and unexpected - the better.
I'd like to share hilarious travel stories, opinions regarding this strange world and a beer or two!
