About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel around the world and hit every continent before 2009

ABOUT ME

I am currently on my first trip around the world. Up to this point I have traveled through South America (Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chili, and Argentina). I have absolutely fallen in love with traveling. The people I meet, the places I have seen, the cultures that I have experienced. It is so amazing. There is nothing better than spending time with people from other countries\cultures and experiencing their lifestyle. Throughout college I was unable to travel much, so after saving for two years, I began my journey in Feb 2008. I hope to travel until the summer of 2009.

I love sports (American football, soccer, skydiving, etc.). I have become a recent fan of languages. My Spanish has gotten significantly better. I know want to learn German, Italian, French, and Russian. Thatäs a lifetime worth of languages right there. I would also like to learn to play the guitar. I'm a huge fan of music and movies. Though I'm not as familiar with the former, I will watch practically any movie I can get my hands on.

As most people do, I enjoy an ice cold beer and hanging out with friends. Any type of performace art is interesting to me as well.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm very laid back. I believe you should determine what you want and let nothing hold you back.

I rarely get upset or stressed. I find that neither are helpful in either situation.

If you are unsure of what you want, well, do something your aren't sure you want. Just do something.

Oh, and always push yourself. Find a fear and challenge it. Scared of flyding? Skydive. Scared of new foods? Eat sushi. Scared of people? Introduce yourself to the next stranger you meet.

Life is about experiences. So go experience it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While in Tallahassee, I tried to host as much as possible, but being a small town there were rarely visitors to Tallahassee. I did manage to meet some of the other couchsurfers and share experiences. I try to meet whoever I can as I travel. Hosting to me isn´t as crucial as haveing a good time with someone from the area I am visiting. While a couch is nice, life is more about the connections you make in life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience actually surfing a couch was in Trujillio, Peru. It was an amazing experience that I cannot wait to repeat. I hvae met a ton of CSers on the road and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

Douglas Adams, Green Day, Crossfade, Aerosmith, Incubus, STP, basically rock, punk, and most anything other than rap or country, Dead Like ME, Family Guy, Rome, The Office, My Name is Earl, House M.D., Boondock Saints, Vanilla Sky, Fight Club, High Fidelity, Blow, Snatch, Donnie Darko, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Sin City, Requium for a Dream (great movie, so disturbing I will neve watch again), many others

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

First experience skydiving. It was the closest thing I have experienced to a zen moment. It is quite possibly the greatest feeling in the world. And the view is spectacular.

Manchu Pichu was one of the most amazing moments in my life. To stand up there amoungst the ruins will always be in my mind. The 3 days of (painful) hiking was worth every moment. Despite the extreme exhaustion when all was said and done. I would do it again everytime and more.
