ABOUT ME
Hi there!
My name is Irene and I am from Crete. Right now I am living in Athens.
I am an easygoing person. I love traveling, meeting people and having nice conversations over drinks, food and music.
I am also a "nature-freak", I prefer outdoor activities, I am into hiking mountains, going to the beaches, forests etc.
Hoping to make new friends, learn about different cultures and share our knowledge and experiences.

I am on Couchsurfing because travelling is like breathing for me and CS changed the way I perceive the world and how I travel.
Four years ago, I travelled to Mauritius and had an amazing experience because of the people I met there (that was just the beginning)... I saw and learnt so many things that I wouldn’t have the chance to see if I travelled as a tourist and had a superficial experience. I want to meet with the locals and learn a different way of thinking and living and I want to immerse myself in the culture and in the place I visit (as much as possible). I believe you can never really know a place if you don't connect with the people.
Last but not least, people on CS helped me in difficult situations while travelling and I am thankful to them.

Hmm... I can never decide but I can think of some at least:

Music bands: Opeth, Universe217, Ghost bc, Arcturus, etc... I enjoy listening to metal, rock, soundtracks, balkan music or pop music.
Movies: Parasite, Hidden figures, Dune, Kurosawa's movies, Capernaum, etc...

I can share stories, information and tips about traveling in Greece. I can also, show you photos, cook or bring something from my country. But I think, the most important is the time we spend together, all the things we talk about, the fun and the memories we make.
