ABOUT ME

We are a couple from the Czech Republic - Filip (38) and Irena (33). We live together for nearly six years. During the whole winter season 2010/2011 we were together in Switzerland, where we worked as Ski-instructors. In April 2011 we left for one year and half to Canada. We wanted to visit Canada not only because of English but mainly because of its really beautiful nature and worldwide known ski resorts. We really love all kind of outdoor activities and Canada was a huge adventure. In Autumn 2012 we flew to Mexico and went through the whole Central America all the way down to Panama. Now we are back in Switzerland, getting ready for a winter season in Europa.
We are easy going, open minded and well traveled people. We love to meet new people, listen to their live stories as well as to tell them about ours. We believe that sharing information and live experiences with the others could be benefiting for everyone to grow up a little bit.

PHILOSOPHY

The one who follows the crowds will usually get no further then the crowd. The one who walks alone is likely to find himself in places no one has ever been.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We started with Couchsurfing in Canada. Our very good friend told us about this project and because of his positive experiences we decided to discover this world too. So far we stayed on a couch just twice - once in Calgary and once in Whitehorse. We hosted some very nice couples in Saas-Fee.

Interests

We love quite all outdoors activities. Especially biking, ski-touring, skiing, snowboarding, snow-shoe walking, curling and surfing. We like to go out with our friends to play badminton, tennis, volleyball, table-tennis or petanque. Filip is a football and ice-hockey mad and I am pretty crazy about photography.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Camping at the frozen Arctic Ocean in Tuktoyaktuk (NWT, Canada), the 24th of December 2011, in our summer tent in -30 C. Very cold and stunning northern lights experience.

Swimming in a glacier lake (Daubenhorn, Switzerland), temperature cca 2°C.

Biking through British Columbia - from Fernie to Vancouver Island (1600km).

Facing to a black bear from 1.5m distance...
