Hey beautiful people! My name is Iryna, I come from Ukraine but currently do my research internship in Canada (Moncton, NB, to be precise). In Ukraine, I study International Relations and strive to become a diplomat which has been my biggest dream since childhood. When I'm free from studying I work as a freelance English and French teacher for kids and I really enjoy spending time with them and watch them making progress.

I've always been passionate about traveling, this passion started when I was about 10 years old. I participated in an exchange program and got a host family in France whom I visited every summer for 6 years. This was a life-changing experience because it was the first time I met people with a completely different lifestyle and mindset, I discovered a bunch of new mesmerizing places and it was absolutely incredible. After that experience, I tried to find other ways to travel and thus visited Spain, then had two opportunities to travel to Estonia, and now I am almost 5000 miles away from home - in Canada.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would really love to host people who come to Kyiv but unfortunately, I live in a dorm so it's not possible. But I can always show you my beloved city and spend a great time with you, telling stories and listening to yours and exploring Kyiv. And I also hope to explore more places with the help of couchsurfers from all over the world :)

Interests

Unfortunately, I don't travel very often because I'm a student with empty pockets. But there are plenty of other things that I am passionate about. My biggest love is music - if I was paid for listening to music, watching music videos or reading about music artists I would be the happiest person in the whole world. And I cannot limit myself to listening to one genre so there is a place for everyone in my playlist. I also enjoy art, especially modern art and modern culture. Spending time in museums or art galleries sounds for me as exciting as going to a rave or a techno party. I also like watching films, learning languages, studying and doing yoga.

But my biggest inspiration is people. My friends often say that I am a good listener and maybe it's true 'cause I really love listening to people's stories because there is always something unique about every person I meet.
