About Me

CURRENT MISSION

learn, live, help, enjoy, be happy...

ABOUT ME

Uhmmm... it's always so hard to describe yourself... I think that I'm an easy-going and open minded person who really enjoys being with all kind of nice people; I love to talk about everything.
I love adventure, I like to live different experiences. That´s why I like to travel, and mostly I prefer to actually live in other countries and get to know their people and culture well enough.
When I travel I don't like to do the classic tourism, just following the tourist paths and see the classic tourist sights... I'm rather the kind of traveler who enjoys 'living & feeling' the place where I am, knowing people and hanging out with them, walking around the city (I love walking), and just do everything calmly even if at the end I didn't have time to see 'everything' (that would be a good excuse to come back also)
I also love the beach (it has a very big place in my heart), nature, and exercising :D, I like running and swimming, but my favorite 'sport' to do is trekking because I love walking and enjoying our amazing nature at the same time... sleeping in the middle of nowhere with just the sounds of nature makes me feel like the happiest person on earth (even if I'm cold and sleeping in a very uncomfortable sleeping bag ;)

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in love and human kindness.

I believe in nature and its amazing power, and that we as humans are just a little part of it, and as the other beings we should live in harmony with our environment, we are NOT the owners and masters of this planet.

I believe happiness is a choice.

I believe those who think they know everything are the greater ignorants, and that those who think that they know nothing are the wiser ones.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to know and share with people from other countries and I'll be very happy having people in my couch (when I'm home) and staying in other people's couch too so we can share and learn from each other.

VERY IMPORTANT: I DON'T use CS as a dating site, unfortunately I've had some uncomfortable experiences in which I have the feeling that my host had second intentions... so I want to be clear about this: if I show interest in meeting you for a coffee, hosting you or surfing your couch that doesn't mean AT ALL that I want something more than a platonic friendship.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

when travelling to brazil I met a couple of argentinians who were travelling and couchsurfing for around 1,5 years... they talked me about their couchsurfing experience and I was amazed. After that I've couchsurfed in Brazil and Argentina for more than 3 months and had some people over at my couch while I was in Caracas... What can I say, I'm addict to couchsurf, I don't see myself traveling without the experience of meeting people from the place i'm travelling anymore, the best way to see a place is through its people

Interests

cooking, cultures, movies, travels, photography, music, internet, friends, beach, trekking, walking everywhere (specially with good company), languages... so many things... and so many other things I know I will discover later on...

Music, Movies, and Books

some of my favorites movies are: a clockwork orange, trainspotting, the lord of the rings, cidade de deus, fight club, fear and loathing in las vegas, the godfather II, Baraka, Guy Ritchie's movies...
in music I could enjoy almost everything (really, I love music and I listen a little bit of everything); and books... uhmm.. hard to tell because I've read a little bit of everything and I've enjoyed all kinds of books, but in this moment I'm not much of a reader, reading 'everything & nothing' in the internet takes all my reading time :S.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

feel the power of nature in the Iguazu falls (Brazil), the desert at night and 180 degrees view of a sky full of stars (Morocco); trekking to the mount Roraima (Venezuela), the glacier Perito Moreno (Argentina), the mating ritual of 2 swans in an Amsterdam canal, a turtle going back to the sea after burying its eggs on the shore of a deserted virgin beach (Venezuela)... I could go on forever... life is amazing if you just pay attention to the little details ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I think I'm a good cook, I enjoy cooking for others, sharing recipes and giving (and receiving) some tips...
I want to learn about the cultures of the places I go, for me that's more important than the tourism part of the travel.
I also enjoy learning languages, so I take every chance I can to try to comunicate in other languages and learn (or practice) them.
I'd like to learn anything you can teach me about photography (I'm a big photography fan)
