Hey! I'm Isis originally from the Philippines and now based in Da Lat, Vietnam. I regularly host root//word: a writers' gathering here. Since I was young, I've wanted to see as much of the world as I can and explore different cultures through the perspectives and stories of the people and experiences I encounter. Slowly, but surely :) I enjoy writing, watercolor painting, and spending lots of downtime in forests.

It's one of the most authentic ways to connect with people while traveling.
Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy reading nonfiction most of the time in the form of autobiographical or research-backed essays and travelogues. Self-development as well. I also like short stories and the occasional novel. Fav books: Banana Heart Summer by Merlinda Bobis, The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, No Lost Causes by Lauren McQuistin, etc etc For films I like watching animated films. They carry a heartfelt sense of representing the human condition. Some of my favorites are: Whisper of the Heart, It's Such a Beautiful Day by Don Hertzfeldt, and Memoir of a Snail. My favorite director is probably Bong Joon Ho.
