ABOUT ME

I have been chronically ill for a several years, fell off the internet and much of life in general, hence my poor percentage. I'm so sorry for that.
Slowly trying to re-emerge in the hope that it was all just a way of turning into a butterfly ;-)

I have adult children that live locally so they tend to be in and out the house, raiding the fridge and the biscuit tin.

We love the outdoors, reading, creating/art, barbecues on the beach, fishing, sea swimming, scuba diving, snorkelling, singing, making music,listening to music, gaming, books, books and more books, all things gadgety (If I could bluetooth my kettle I'd be a happy woman!), power kiting, kayaking, meeting new people and just generally enjoying what happens when it happens.
We love a good laugh in this house and don't take things too seriously if possible.

PHILOSOPHY

To live consciously and be present to the moment as much as possible. Not to complain about things, but to live with optimistic enthusiasm. To give up on trying to be perfect and instead to live with purpose and joy, striving towards being the best person I can be.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've always been happy to have friends or even friends-of-friends staying over. I've also been the fortunate recipient of the hospitality of others and have learnt so much from the many people I have met over the years.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

I have an eclectic taste in music and enjoy being introduced to new music and musicians/bands/singers.
My taste in movies is varied, but I don't enjoy horror films or anything very violent.
Books are my passion. I collect books, particularly non-fiction. I read a lot, but unfortunately doubt I'll be able to read every book I would like to! ;-) Audio books are a wonderful way of being able to do housework or art and 'read' a book at the same time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I live in a beautiful part of the world; Orkney in Scotland. Exploring the various islands has provided me so many incredible experiences and beautiful sights. Also, being so far north means I've been lucky enough to see the northern lights on several occasions.
The west coast of Scotland is also exquisitely beautiful; so much so that it takes my breath away.
I'm obsessed with sea swimming, all year round.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm pretty good at cooking and baking and would happily teach guests if they're interested. I'm also a fully qualified holistic therapist in various modalities.
I'm interested in languages and international cuisine. Also, if you're into knitting, crochet, sewing, art or making things, I'd love to share what we both know.
