About Me
Hello I'm a New Zealander living in France for the year. I'm really enjoying having the opportunity to travel around Europe and learn about this incredible continent. I lived in the Haute-Savoie region of France for 6 months, so was able to take advantage of the incredible ski season they have there (not to mention the raclettes.) I made a lot of friends from all over the world during my time there and was able to stay with some of them as I travelled around Europe in the summer and during long weekends. My summer travels led me to Spain where I was for two incredible weeks and I was able to meet the most incredible people and have conversations I had never dreamed possible. After the summer I started a new Au Pairing job in Bordeaux! So I'm getting to experience the other side of France with its beaches and wine, and it definitely isn't disappointing!
These past 9 months have been the best of my life because I've been able to travel to amazing places, meet incredible people and I can't wait to do it all again!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm going on a trip to the south of France with friends I met in Bordeaux, so I would like to learn more about the culture and the way of life on the Côte d'Azur by staying with a local :) I think this is the best way to really get the feel of a place and its such a different and much more authentic experience to stay with a local as opposed to in a hotel.
Interests
My interests include design, which I hope to pursue as my career. My main passion is learning languages and I have had the chance to develop a high level of french while living here which has been incredible. I'm now trying to learn spanish because I find it to be such a beautiful language which I try to practise daily with my Mexican friends :) I also love reading, meeting new people and clearly travelling :) I'm also a sporty person who loves kayaking, biking and swimming.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Bungy jumping on the first ever commercial Bungy jump in Queenstown NZ. Which I did with my french exchange student that was staying with me at the time :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would love to tell you about my life and New Zealand culture and how different it is from France. New Zealand is such a little country and there aren't very many of us! So I get told daily that I'm the first New Zealander that they've met! I often get asked questions like - is it the same month in New Zealand? Do they have round-abouts and traffic lights there? Is New Zealand in Europe? So I would love to share with you my culture (and the answer to the questions are yes, yes and no hahaha)
