About Me

CURRENT MISSION
In the nutshell, pretty much simple and how people should probably live in general - To live my life to the fullest and most importantly on my terms.

ABOUT ME
Heh, It's a bit awkward for me to speak about myself... But I think that people know me as a freedom and fun loving person, open-minded, mr-know-it-all (I am a bit knowledge is power kind of guy :) ), with maybe somewhat quirky sense of humor, easy going and all the those other nice things. Anyway all of that is just a perspective of me and some others maybe, these things are always relative and depend on the beholder, it's for you to find out and make some opinion in the end.

PHILOSOPHY
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
I will not claim it's mine, of course. R. W. Emerson wrote it, but I share the thought so that's what matters

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First of all I see myself as a citizen of the world that doesn't want to be bound by something abstract and to me not so important as the nationality and some state borders. For me the individuals and their qualities and character are the things most important, and meeting folks from other countries, creeds, traditions, belief systems as well as their perspectives of the place they are living is why I think CS is one of the great platforms to meet a new and diverse people. Those are where the fundamental values of this page lie in, not in being a opportune place to find a free place to crash in. Going somewhere for scenic landscape, attractive looking cities, towns and villages could be very important but this way you can't get to know so much of the essence of the place. Compared to that the people you meet, talk with or hang out with on your journey can really enlighten you about the place you are in as well as make the whole trip more fullfiling and interesting. And that should go both ways, the new friendships, the exchange of thoughts, ideas, info, feedback and generally the good mutual moments is what makes this page the good place to be active and to have a lot of new stories and experiences

Concerning my music tastes in the nutshell I'm interested in everything from classical music to jazz, county, blues and especially rock, almost all of it's many styles - from the classics to the new "indie" variants. My favorite bands or single performers are Pink Floyd, The Doors, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Nick Drake, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Morphine, Mogwai, Sigur Ros, Arcade Fire, The National, Belle and Sebastian, My Bloody Valentine, Jesus and Mary Chain, The Smiths (and Morrissey solo work), Porthishead, Massive Attack, Magnetic Fields, Elliot Smith, Joy Division, The Clash, Arcade Fire, The Whitest Boy Alive, everything by Jack White, Pearl Jam (Eddie Vedder), Velvet Underground, The Pixies, Brian Eno, Talking Heads, David Bowie, Fleet Foxes, Manic Street Preachers, The Stone Roses etc, etc .I really put too much already. And the list is always extendable if I like your suggestions. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

"Amazing" is a rather subjective really, something that is amazing to me is maybe meaningless to the others. And to me the really amazing is something difficult to reach, a stuff of legends that would be very challenging to achieve and I don't want to claim I have already done it.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach? I don't know... I am by know pretty much fluent in English and solid in Italian since I was living on Sicily for a year. Currently Iam trying to learn Spanish and Russian, but finding time is the problem. I am always interested in sharing any kind of knowledge about Croatia - the people, places, culture, cuisine etc, and any other somebody is interested in. Also, I am always willing to learn from the others concerning their places of origin or other amazing places they have seen or lived. I would like to learn how to dance (properly), draw, paint or play some instrument, but time (again) is always my worst enemy so I am still at the start of it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

What can I share, hmm... Stories, experiences, various knowledge or just some funny anecdotes of the things I saw, done, heard of etc. I am interested in so much topics, from history, visual arts, music, literature, other people's culture to foreign politics... Hahah, so much sometimes that I could talk somebody to sleep with it.

Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, United Kingdom, Vatican City State
