ABOUT ME

We are non smoking, social drinkers who like the music and art scenes. Want to do some "local" traveling right now and hopefully branch out further and further from home as finances allow!
I was a Navy brat so I traveled when I was young and the bug stuck w/ me. Grew up mostly in Washington State through high school and then moved around a bit. 20's were spent in Seattle Washington. Brad was born and raised in Mississippi and the joined the U.S. NAVY. Missle tech for 15 years on a ballistic missle submarine. We met in Seattle Wa. And I guess you can say the rest is history, sort of.
We lived in Mississippi for 12 years- was it really that long? We have just moved to Melbourne Florida for sun, fun, and beachy days! I love traveling to new places and meeting new people and I miss doing it lately. It is hard w/ 2 kids to pack up and travel w/ less than stellar financial prospects!! I think this site may be a blessing!!

PHILOSOPHY

The golden rule and no judgement or being close minded. Accept people as they are and who they are. It takes all types to make up this wonderful rainbow of a world we live in.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

With 2 crazy teens at home, hosting isn't a good option right now, no offense!!! our kids are gone for 2 months every summer and we might be open to that time frame.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I was in England about 20 years ago I found the most wonderful people who were more than happy to open their home to perfect strangers and it was a life saver to me then. I fully enjoyed the folks who took me in and tried my best to give back accordingly. Have also stayed at alot of Hostels; not that it is the same but I met some very cool folks that way as well.

Movies: The Piano, Alpha Dog, almost all independant films, comedys, drama, the whole chick flick thing, Do NOT do horror- don't want the nightmares!

Music: love Blind Melon, Pink, Ed Sheeran, White Stripes, The Veronicas, Madonna, George Michael Justin Timberlake, Alison Krauss, Walk off the Earth, REM, Dave Matthews, Shwayze, The Raconteurs, Kevin Rudolf. Funk and disco, reggae, some country, almost all music.

The Internet can be fun and also a huge time sucker! Love Pinterest, Instagram, reddit especially and pulse and NPR to learn new stuff.

Books: Wally Lamb, Chick Lit, Joyce Carrol Oats and lots and lots more. I read a lot of free Ebooks with ereaderlove and a kindle app.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled across the USA for 3 weeks by myself seeing sites and meeting people one of my best memories to be honest with you.

We saw the turtles hatching on the beach when we first moved here right as the sun was rising. It was epic and beautiful to be there!
