About Me

CURRENT MISSION

meeting people I can learn from, exploring new places, improving my professional skills.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Elbląg (quite a small city in the north part of Poland), than moved to Poznan (Greater Poland area) to study psychology at the University. Now I've been living in Warsaw for two years, working in the fild and doing some voluntary work as well. I really enjoy living in Warsaw. The city is full of energy and new things happening all the time. Considering this time of my life (still young;) I think it's the best place for me to live in. Although I appriciate all those things I can take from living in a big city I really do like to chill out in some quiet place from time to time. I just love mountains and lakes (one of the gratest thing to do is to swim in the lake in the morning!). In my free time I like spending time with other people (definitely I'm not a recluse;), doing all sorts of things. I have a group of good friends here in Warsaw with whom I spend as much time as I can.

PHILOSOPHY

We have only one life, there would be no other one. Very often we won't have a "secound chance". I try to remember about it on a daily basic. I try not to be afraid of doing things that are important for me.
What is also very significant for me is not to worry so much about things I have no influence on. Sometimes its quite difficult;) but it's good to be aware of the fact that we are not omnipotent an it's still ok.

I think it's important to be open for other people, someone who may need us - that is why I do a voluntary work.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far so good. I surfed a couch few times in Italy and once in Copenhagen. I was a host twice. I also took part in couchsurfing meetings here in Warsaw couple of times. And last but not least - I told my friends who didn't know about CS that it's simply a great way to learn about the world and people - some of them have caught the bug :)

Interests

I like reading good books, watching movies (I prefer non- commercial ones than blockbusters). I enjoy swimming and I do as much of it as I can. But my biggest interest is just being with other people, simply having fun & learning new things from them.

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, many... In two words I can say that:
Music: modern rock, jazz.
Movies: "into the wild" (one of my favourite), moreover: W. Allen's movies in general
Books: I cannot list everything. I really did enjoy "brave new world" by Huxley (author's vision of a "new world" really gave me the creeps) Lately I've read "Eureka Street" by Robert McLiam Wilson - if you like intelligent and ironic sense of humor - you should read this book couse it is filled with it! :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

What I've done: this year I participated in a 5 - day expedition in Gorgany Mountains (Ukraine). It was real survival! I walked more than 20 kilometres each day with all those things I needed (tent, food, sleeping - bag etc) on my back. I learned how to cook by the fire! :) I even helped to make a fire. Yeah. I menaged to gain two highest peaks in Gorgany and I went over the rushing stream on a thin trunk.

What I've seen: all those mountain landscapes I had the pleasure to enjoy so far.
My fascination for the mountains was the love from the first sight and is still ongoing!
