ABOUT ME

My name is Jack, I am a 23 year old male from Scotland. I graduated in the summer of 2008 and realised that I wasn't ready to join the rat race get a career so decided to get a shitty job at my local supermarket and save for a round the world ticket. It is the best decision I have ever made and have had the best time of my life in the last year, met some amazing people and seen many amazing things. Long may it continue.

PHILOSOPHY

I am genuinely a very happy, smiley person. I am laid back and believe that good things happen to good people. At the same time I am hard working and committed with I need to be, usually the need is more money in order to continue my travels! I live my life to experience things and to meet lots of people and be able to look back with no regrets when i eventually settle down.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I only discovered the CS project once I got to Canada recently, now a member I will definitely host should someone ever come to my little town I live in back in Scotland or if I should settle in any other part of the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

For the last two weeks I have met many couch surfers who have put me up and also met other surfers who have stayed for a few nights. Everyone has been extremely friendly and nice and it really opened my eyes to just how many good people there actually is in this world.

Interests

I love music, meeting people, geography, film, literature, poetry, sport, the arts, the sunshine, the snow for skiing, natural history. Everything involved with our world pretty much holds my interest.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite bands of all time are probably the Stones, Beatles, the Smiths, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, The Cribs. Currently i'm listening to Two Door Cinema Club, Grizzly Bear, Local Natives, The National, Brand New and Manchester Orchestra. Also into a lot of DJs and hip hop.

Movies - mainly comedies Baseketball, Anchorman, Dumb and Dumber, Waynes World, Naked Gun, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Team America

Books- usually I just go into a second hand store and buy something that grabs my attention, preferably modern fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Angkor Wat in Cambodia. 12th century city and temples. Truly amazing.
