Overview
About Me
I am a 20 year old guy who is currently taking his second gap year. During my first gap year I have worked a lot with education because that, to me, is one of the greatest gifts that we have. Being able to learn, being able to wonder and being curious are three things that are very important to me.
Now, my couriosity has led me to go on a grand adventure.
My whole life I have been living on a horse farm in a small town in Denmark. I love the animals and the farm where I have been involved in farming, housekeeping, cooking, maintenance ect. My house is surrounded by wonderful nature, which I really enjoy. In fact, I have even been a boy scout for 10 years because I love nature so much. I also know a lot about computers and technology so that's another area where I'll be helpful. As far as skills go, if you can teach me, I can do it. I am a quick learner and love to pick up new skills.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm a couchsurfer is because I'm a super curious and adventurous guy who loves to meet new people and see new places all the while trying to create meaningful relations with the people that I encounter. I love learning and I love teaching and I have a lot of wonderful things to share about myself and the place that I come from.

Music, Movies, and Books
I really enjoy playing video games and it has been a part of my life since I was a child and I have a lot of favorites. I'm mostly about the narrative driven stories but I also enjoy a good rpg (huge love for pokemon), platformer or adventure title. I think my favorite game would be "the last of us".
I really have a broad taste in music. I'm the kind of guy who doesn't commit to one particular genre or artist if I like a song I'll probably listen to it again. I've also been to a couple of music festivals the most famous being the Roskilde Festival
I don't really have a favorite movie but if I had to pick one it would be the lion king bacause I'm childish like that.
I've never really been into books (except manga) but I'm trying to read some more. Currently reading l'étranger in french.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Over the years I have really gained a lot of great friends and I think that is one of the most amazing things that I've done. I've always been praised for being a really good friend who's always there.
Another thing that I've done was to regain confidence after I was in a really bad place psychologically. I managed to believe in myself again and even do some things that I would never have been able to do. I starred in the student created musical at my school and held the the students' graduation speech in front of more than 500 people with much praise to follow.
Teach, Learn, Share
One of the main reasons that I decided to go to Montreal was to practice the French language which I have studied for around 4 years but haven't been able to use for 3 years which I think is sad.
I'm also quite capable outdoors and know a thing or two about cooking.
For the past year I've been teaching at my hometown school as a substitute teacher, teaching classes of 15-20 students alone and as teaching assistant being responsible for the well-being of a number of troubled students in the ages 7-9 who have had a hard time at home or at school making friends after changing schools. At these positions I have been very succesful making the headmaster grant me a written statement approving my capabilities concerning children and teaching. During this time I've also helped several children improve their performance in school, working as a personal mentor, a special kind of private teacher who not only teaches but also inspires and fostors motivation in their students improving their general performance in school and making them more curious. As a mentor I have recieved much positive feedback.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share with you my passion for education and of course the interests that I have listed above. I'll also be very happy just to talk and get to know another person and just hangout and have fun be it at home or in the city.
I'm also a very empathetic person who is good at listening to and recognizing the needs of others and respecting them which I know will be important if I'm going to stay at your place. Still, I'm also outgoing and always ready to try out new things and meet new people.
I come from a home that has always valued helping each other out a lot so I'm already familiar with cleaning, shopping and cooking. If you have some outdoor work I can help with that too.
I also think that it is important to state that I'm very dutiful and I will always do my best whether it be cleaning, cooking or teaching and feel free to provide me with some constructive criticism. Maybe I could even prepare som traditional danish dishes if you are willing to try them out.
