Films: Lawrence of Arabia, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Gospel According to Matthew, The Third Man, Touch of Evil, Come and See, Blade Runner (The Final Cut), Under the Skin, A Matter of Life and Death, The Red Shoes, Chinatown, In the Mood for Love, The Godfather Part II, Vertigo, Ran, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, etc. etc.

Music: a bit of everything! Largely classic rock, but also modern indie and psychedelic rock, jazz, classical, soul, and funk. Favourite bands/artists include Led Zeppelin, Tame Impala, Rush, The Allman Brothers Band, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, The Beatles, and many others. I think 'Pet Sounds' is a masterpiece. I'm also a big fan of English composers such as Vaughan Williams, Elgar and Walton, though I also love Beethoven.

Books: Dostoevsky, Thomas Hardy, Dickens, the Sherlock Holmes stories, the Lord of the Rings, the plays of Shakespeare, Catch-22, the poetry of William Blake, etc.
