I’ve had the chance to teach in some really unique places in Indonesia, like Nias Island, Palopo, and Sangihe Island. Those experiences made me realize how much I enjoy exploring new places, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures. After graduating from Calvin University in 2020, I worked as a Teaching Assistant at Young Adult Red Oak, a program for young adults with special needs. I learned so much from that job and really loved it. Now, I’m a teacher here in Michigan, working with students who have severe autism. It’s a challenging but super rewarding job, and I love being part of their progress every day.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I love exploring new places, meeting people from different backgrounds, and learning about their cultures. Plus, as a budget traveler, it’s a great way to connect with locals while keeping my adventures affordable!
Music, Movies, and Books
I like easy listening music, any inspirational movies and books.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Back in Indonesia, I once rode a motorbike for around 12 hours straight, traveling from Palopo (South Sulawesi) to Soroako, nearly in the central part of Sulawesi, a trip I’ll never forget! In December 2020, when COVID hit, I drove solo from Plymouth, MI, all the way to Fayetteville, AR. It was such an adventure, especially since I had just gotten my first-ever driver’s license in November 2020. A month later, I was already tackling an interstate road trip on my own!
Teach, Learn, Share
I’m someone who loves exploring and embracing new challenges. Whether it’s teaching students with different abilities, riding a motorbike for 12 hours across Sulawesi, or tackling my first solo interstate road trip, I’ve learned so much from every experience. I enjoy teaching others what I’ve learned along the way, sharing my stories and perspectives, and learning from the people I meet. For me, every connection is an opportunity to grow, share, and discover something new together.
What I Can Share With Hosts
I can share my experiences and stories, teach a bit of the Indonesian language, and bring along some small Indonesian souvenirs as a token of appreciation. I’d love to exchange cultures and learn from you too!
