About Me
Hey! My name is Jacqui and I just started my studies at the University of Aveiro. Because of this, I'm in the middle of exploring the area and if you like you can join me for a coffee, a trip to the beach or a small hiking tour :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Two years ago, I made a backpacking and hitchhiking tour through New Zealand. I totally fell in love with this kind of travelling, because everywhere I went, I met the most amazing people and felt always like home, a feeling I never thought I would feel 24.000 km away from my home country. Now I'm a little bit addicted to this kind of travelling and can't stop anymore!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One night on my first solo trip in New Zealand, I took my sleeping bag and mattress to sleep on a dock in a small bay near Picton. Not just that I saw the most amazing night sky, but also two stingrays covered in marine bioluminescence swimming next to me—the most magical night of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I appear to be pretty good at two things. The first thing is cooking (I really love to cook and eat!). Secondly, it seems that I like to talk a lot about biology, biodiversity and the whole schmear. If you want to talk about this, too, amazing! If not, my brownies will help you to endure it bravely.
If you aren't in the mood for talking, just a tiny hint, I love beach volleyball. So whenever there is the slightest chance to play it, I'll definitely want to join (I'm also not averse to playing a good chess match, but that's a different story).
Coming to the learning part in this chapter, I'm always eager to learn more about different mindsets or ways of living like permaculture, ecovillages etc. I also started with yoga and meditation in the last few months, so I'm always happy to find somebody who can teach me something about these topics.
